Tunny Fish Model of fish, fibre glass, date unknown
Off the coast of Scarborough, Tuna (Tunny) fishing was a popular pastime up until the 1950s. It would attract people, predominantly men, from all over the world to capture fish that could reach up to 10ft long or 680kg in weight. A photo would often be taken to immortalise a catch, and act as a constant visual souvenir.

This model immortalises a sport that championed scale and showmanship. Overfishing caused a mass decrease in species, and the Atlantic bluefin is now endangered globally.
