Bali is one of the 34 provinces of the Republic of Indonesia and has become the prime holiday destination in Indonesia as well as one of the major holiday destinations for international tourists. The island is located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east, and divided into 9 districts (8 regencies and 1 municipality) with population around four million people. Denpasar is the capital and most populous city of Bali. The vast majority of the Balinese people are Hindu so there are a significant number of temples on the island. Temple or Pura in Indonesian is the place for worship, and the biggest, most important and holiest temple in Bali is the Mother Temple of Besakih. Bali has a tropical climate all year with average temperature of 31 degrees Celsius and two different seasons. Dry season is between May and September with high humidity and wet season is between October and April with low humidity. From June to August, the weather is usually nice, breezy and cool. The main language is Indonesia, however being one of the most favourite holiday destinations in the world, not only many people speak English but also other foreign languages such as French, Japanese, Chinese, Germany.

Situated right next to Bali, Lombok unspoiled atmosphere of vintage tropical paradise might remind its visitors of Bali a couple decades ago. It is a developing tourism destination which proven by the recently-refurbished International Airport located in the city of Praya, serving regular flight to and from several cities of Java and the island of Bali, as well as neighboring countries of Malaysia and Singapore, the island also accessible by boat from Bali, Flores and Sumbawa. Lombok has a rich and enduring indigenous culture that has withstood the pressures of modernity remarkably well. 85% of the island inhabitants are composed by indigenous Sasak people whose origins are thought to have arisen from Java in the first millennium BC. Other residents include an estimated 10–15% Balinese, with the small remainder being Tionghoa-peranakan, Javanese, Sumbawanese and Arab Indonesians. Besides the widely-known spots of interest such as Senggigi Beach, Mount Rinjani and the Gili clusters, there are numerous fascinating underrated spots to see around the island, including Kuta Beach (not to be confused with the legendary one in Bali) on the Southern side, or the magnificent Tangsi Beach a.k.a ‘Pink beach’ at Eastern Lombok, named for the gorgeous pink sand covering its entire shoreline. In the central Lombok, you can opt to visit Selong Belanak beach, a secluded shoreline area with soft white-sand surrounded by lush greenery. With abundance natural and cultural wonders to relish, Lombok is a piece of admirable getaway for those who look for a relaxing tropical vacation.

two-hour drive from Sanur to Munduk is worth it for two reasons; chill cool air and long unhurried lunch at The View.
Indoor seats are ideal for sheltering from the cold breeze, but the outdoor bale leaves a deeper impression; lush surrounding hills and glimpses of Java Sea are swaddled in a veil of white mist. Sit back, relax and enjoy The View (pun intended) with a glass of warm traditional drink like bajigur, bandrek or sekoteng in hand.
The View is a traditional joglo-style restaurant, owned and managed by Plataran Indonesia. Its central highland location provides a contrast from Bali-beach scene. The View offers a selection of Indonesian, Balinese and Western dishes such as Ayam Betutu, Sate Lilit, Soto Ayam, Nasi Goreng, Classic Carbonara and Spaghetti Bolognese. The Balinese and Indonesian options are highly recommended. Their Ayam Betutu is exceptional; the chicken (twice cooked with Balinese spices) is deeply flavoured and the meat falls off the bone right away. ‘Rijstaffel for two’ is perfect for sampling many dishes in small portions. The scrumptious platter is highlighted by a mix of classic Indonesian and Balinese dishes such as chicken satay skewers, gado-gado, tempe and tahu mendoan, a portion of ayam betutu and lawar. Banana fritters drizzled with palm sugar syrup for dessert is included.

eated on the side of Petitenget, Tiffin Bali – Indian Inspired Kitchen is a chic yet comfy eatery serving fine take of homey Indian dishes, one that you may not find in any other big names of the same concept. The name ‘Tiffin’ is indeed taken the name of Indian unique lunch box carrier used to bring light midday meals, and that’s the strong concept that the restaurant wants to present to its guest. The variety of menus in Tiffin Bali – Indian Inspired Kitchen comes in light portion for a good reason; so guests can try various kinds of dishes instead of only one or two main meals. It aims to break the stereotypes that Indian foods are always ‘heavy and creamy’. To boost your appetite, you can
immediately order aloo chaat; Indian staple street food which consist of crispy gram flour noodle on tasty potato patty, creamy yoghurt, tamarind chutney, coriander and garam masala. Then another fine food to nibbles is masala fries, which is basically a clever combination of crunchy French fries with Indian spices. Then for the main menu, chicken makhani is a must try—Indian butter chicken which can be savored with a delicious bowl of jeera rice or the finely-textured paratha flat bread.

KUTA
There are much already said and done about Kuta, but the fact is, this is the area that never sleeps. Kuta nowadays has changed quite significantly, for better than worst. The beach is cleaner, the road are mostly paved and it still maintains the original ambient even though many kind of places have been built from shop, resorts, restaurants, pub, bars, lounge to lifestyle hub. It remains a great place to visit.
