Bio

Hi! My name is Matt, but I am better known as Waffle. (I’ll Save that story for another time.) This page is where I tell you just a little bit about myself. I am not your typical graphic designer. I create things that involve building scaled models, illustrating, corprate branding, package design, magazine layout, website design and print design. As a student, I was hired to help with the branding of Stevens- The Institute of Business & Arts by creating layout print designs for the windows and backside banner to help promote and potentually grab the attention of local creative people who are interested in pursuing in a creative field. People are now starting to notice the school more and more as they walk by and see the print design that I created. With mixed media projects, I first get out my sketch book and begin with rough concepts and I try to think of simple shapes and what kind of structures to start with. Then from the sketch I make a list of materials that are going to be used.Once I get the ball rolling, I start the building process with carboard, pvc piping and sprayfoam.Eventually I want to learn how to use more building materials like resin, fiberglass, and even a little bit of 3D modeling. Once I have somethingbuilt, I like to get as many pictures with different angles as I can so that I can turn it into some form of print. I do enjoy creating my own work, however I really love collaborating with a well rounded diverse team. Being able to share ideas with other peopIe really helps to push things to the next level.Critiques from other artists and designers help me to see things from a different perspective and really helps by motivating me to become that much stronger, so I always give myself room for growth.I love to mix things up stepping away from the computer and try to think outside of the box. By using traditional mediums like charcoal, different types of paint, pastels and really get dirty on one side, and then turn around and clean it up withthe Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Photoshop,Illustrator and InDesign. am a Navy veteran who has served over seas in Yokosuka, Japan attached to the 7th fleet. I was stationed on board the USS John S. McCain where I learned discipline, structure, and core values of honor, coarage and committment that I still hold on to in my professional lifestyle. I will always aim to raise the bar as highas I can go,and then push myself to go over it. Self motivation is key forme and I always strive for “the next best thing”. I am looking for a unique and like minded group of people to help create a vision that will shapeour future.I am a designer and I am the droid you are looking for. Hire me and let’s design the future!

Specially designed for deep space exploration and reconnaissance, probe droids are employed in science and military applications. Tenacious hunters and searchers, probe droids (or probots) have a variety of sensors, and the ones employed by the Empire are armed with powerful blasters and, in some models, shields. Upon arrival at their target location, they gather information. If confronted after their main mission has been completed these droids can self-destruct. Imperial probes are vaguely arachnid in shape, with a dark metal finish, bulbous sensor "eyes" and spindly manipulator arms.

The IT-O is an interrogation droid designed by Imperial Security Bureau and employed by the Galactic Empire. Use of the IT-O was carefully controlled by ISB, though some models found their way into the hands of senior Moffs, military intelligence and even CompForce. They were also employed by Imperial Inquisitors and Stormtrooper garrison commanders.

Mixed Media PGAV Destinations Zoo Exhibit Redesign

This is my concept for the exsisting Primate House in the St. Louis Zoo. My idea is to turn the “Monkey House” into an interactive playhouse for both human and primate alike. There will be certain things in place like glass tubing, and netting to seperate kids and adults from the primates, but you will be able to climb the same large center tree, walk through a large tunnel that leads under a waterfall. There will also be swinging ropes and foam pits that you can swing from. The large observation window is for people to walk by and they are observing humans just like they are the animals. When you cross the entrance of the “Primate Play House” you enter in to the primate’s world. You become a monkey! Now you can have fun climbing, swinging, making silly faces and really enjoy this lively adventure. Now its time to start Monkey’n Around!
