ASSURED PERFORMANCE There are no shortcuts when it comes to safety and that’s something that guides us in designing products. We know that peace of mind is important when it comes to dealing with your personal safety, and knowing all our products are tested and certified to relevant safety standards is the minimum you should expect. Blackrock works with recognised quality assurance organisations during product development to rigorously test all our products, as well as carrying out wearer trials and in-house assessments, to give you peace of mind when it comes to using any of our products. Our safety footwear, high visibility garments and PPE all achieve the appropriate levels of European certification.

IF THE SHOE FITS… Whether you’re looking for something stylish, practical or just protective, Blackrock has safety footwear to suit you. From a basic chukka boot through to one with the highest level of protection and style, you’ll find them in our range. All Blackrock safety footwear is tested to EN20345:2011 during development, so when you choose one of our products you can be secure in the knowledge that it has been tested prior to launch - not just in a laboratory but also in wearer trials so we get the views of real people. And we carry on testing and quality checking products even when they’ve been in our range for a number of years. For additional features and something a little special, look for our Blackrock Advance range, where you’ll find extra features such as fully waterproof uppers, heat resistant outsoles and composite (metal-free) toe caps and midsoles, all without adding great expense.
WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? There are many levels of specification involved in safety footwear and we know it can be a little daunting when choosing what’s right for you. The table overleaf explains the key benefits of the standard specification codes you’ll encounter. Over and above those there are features in our Blackrock Advance range which might suit your requirements better. HRO – heat resistant outsoles can withstand up to 300°C heat. A must when you’re working in conditions where you need protection from hot surfaces or materials as part of your trade. Waterproof – if you’re regularly working in standing water or conditions where keeping your feet dry is a struggle, you can trust our waterproof range to make things more comfortable. Designed with a waterproof inner membrane, these styles still allow your feet to breathe but keep moisture out to save you from the discomfort of damp, cold feet. Composite – where non-metallic footwear is essential, Blackrock Advance has a compact range with a choice of styles and prices. These use lightweight composite material in both the toe and protective midsole and are ideal where security checks are in operation, or the comfort of lightweight materials helps reduce foot fatigue. PRACTICAL FOOTWEAR FOR CLEAN WORKING Our Hygiene range is ideal for industries where hygiene and the ability to keep footwear clean is vital. Suitable for environments that need to be rid of contaminants, food stuffs, waste products and chemicals on a daily basis, Hygiene footwear has a water resistant microfibre upper that keeps these away from your feet. Just as importantly, the products can be easily cleaned, featuring fast drying, breathable mesh linings, and can be machine washed at 40°C. Many workplaces where Hygiene footwear is used are tiled or have easy to wash flooring, which when wet or covered in waste products can become a dangerous slip hazard, so the Hygiene range has slip resistant soles to reduce the possibility of injury from slips, trips and falls. We’ve kept the steel toe cap for protection but removed the midsole, which not only improves flexibility for added comfort, but also helps the self-cleaning sole flex more easily to rid itself of trapped dirt. Different fabric weights – we start at 245gsm for a lightweight, cooler option which is ideal for those hotter months where you still want the coverage of a trouser rather than a pair of shorts. For those months where thicker layers are needed our Rhino canvas trouser is perfect, the 390gsm thick 100% cotton material can give you added warmth over base layers of breathable thermals to keep you warm outside. Triple stitching on areas of high stress keep your trousers in shape and take the worry of seems ripping away, extra durable fabric on knees and hems mean quick wearing areas won’t ruin the look of your trousers. We’ve added all the pockets you’ll ever need – foldaway ones, zipped ones, bellows pockets for when you need a little more room. Long pockets for rulers, spirit levels and paint stirrers. Pockets with openings for your earphones to come through or mobile phones to sit in. And even pockets with a waterproof lining for easy washing! Teflon® coating keeps stains at bay so trousers stay looking clean for longer, and fabrics such as Polycotton and canvas stand the test of wash after wash to make sure you get great use out of your trousers and great value for money.

WARMTH GUARANTEED Heat is a compact range of garments developed to work in conjunction with your body, engineered to give you the ultimate in heat insulation. The high density fabrics trap a layer of warm air close to your skin, reducing heat loss and keeping you warmer for longer essential on chilly days and particularly when working outside. The multi-loop technology used in our gloves creates a thicker, heavier lining to trap more insulating warm air close to your hands and on our socks we’ve added a comfort grip to ensure your they stay relaxed but supportive around the leg throughout the whole day. The neckwarmer uses Thinsulate material to line a thick fleece outer layer to keep warm air around your head and neck, and the draw cord can be pulled tight to create a thermal lined hat for a dual purpose. Our thermal insoles reflect cold air away from your feet whilst the thermal lining keeps warm air close to your skin, stopping your feet becoming cold.
