LIFE CARE BENEFITS Rather than adhere to a month-to-month rental structure, Brazos Towers is a Life Plan Community where the entrance and monthly fees ensure not only lifetime quality care and convenience, but also a range of additional benefits that make it an ideal choice when planning for what the future may hold.

• Get peace of mind knowing that if your health needs change, you won’t have to move from the community where you chose to live. You simply make a change within the community and receive a higher level of care. • You may receive tax deductions as a medical expense from the non-refundable portion of your entrance fee and a portion of your ongoing monthly fee. (Tax benefit amount is based on individual tax profile – discuss with your tax professional for a better understanding of your allowable tax benefits.) • Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor residents benefit from discounted rates for Assisted Living and Long-Term Care in the Health Care Center compared to other health care-related centers. • Receive 30 days a year (per person) of complimentary care in our Health Care Center each year that you reside in Independent Living. This gives you additional nursing care above and beyond what is provided by Medicare after hospitalization.

• As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor provides assistance to residents who, through no fault of their own, may outlive their assets. The Resident Assistance Fund provides for the care they need.

Your new home should not only meet your every need, but also reflect your unique style. Our Design Coordinator can help with everything from built-ins and paint selection to flooring and more. A team of dedicated moving and organization professionals is ready to help with everything from downsizing to packing and unpacking. They make your transition as seamless as possible.

First and foremost, Brazos Towers seeks to provide the ultimate Independent Living experience. The majority of our amenities and activities cater to active seniors and encourage Independent Living at the highest level. In fact, our residents tend to be younger, and many still work, volunteer, teach, and continue to enjoy the carefree living they have always embraced. However, as a Life Plan Community, we understand that changes and challenges may occur. As such, we are fully equipped with dedicated private rooms, specialized onsite medical staff, as well as personalized programs designed to deliver focused care with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Should you need help with dressing, bathing, meals, and medication management, Assisted Living services and residences are available. For those struggling with dementia and related issues, the Memory Support area provides customized programs and support in a safe, secure, dedicated environment. Medicare-certified Skilled Nursing services are also available to help those recovering from major health issues and hospitalization to rehabilitate and return to their highest possible level of health. Best of all, each level of care offers dedicated accommodations within the community. Residents may also seek in-home care services. All options ensure the utmost in comfort, familiarity, and peace of mind for residents requiring assistance and support.

ASSISTED LIVING SERVICES Covering a range of needs, our Assisted Living services include help with personal care such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and hygiene. Medication management is also provided. Residents may receive three meals a day, and any special nutrition needs are considered. Assisted Living also includes supervision with transferring, 24-hour care giving, and on-call assistance. Each apartment is also equipped with an urgent response system. Additional services include transportation, housekeeping and laundry services, as well as organized activities.

All levels of living offer all-inclusive services.

MEMORY CARE Compassion, personal attention, and creative engagement are the primary focus of our Memory Care services. These include all services listed above for Assisted Living, plus activity programs developed around the individual capabilities of each resident, Music and Memory program, low resident-to-caregiver ratio, secured ingress and egress, and an expanded menu selection. MEDICARE-CERTIFIED SKILLED NURSING SERVICES These are special services provided for residents requiring recuperation and rehabilitation and consist of skilled intermediate and long-term care, respite, recuperative and rehabilitative services, as well as onsite physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. In addition to help with dressing, bathing, grooming, hygiene, transferring, and toileting, Skilled Nursing also includes the administration of medications, assistance with eating and dining, and the monitoring of nutrition and hydration. Nursing care around the clock, housekeeping and laundry services, and organized activities are also provided. Skilled Nursing service is Medicare-certified and staffed by a Registered Nurse under the direction of a Board-Certified Geriatrician and a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator.

OUR CULTURE Our residents are the center of our culture and are empowered to have a vested interest in their community. An active Residents Association meets regularly to discuss community initiatives in an open forum. Our Resident Advisory Committee meets directly with the Volunteer Board of Directors to share ideas and feedback from our Residents Association. We believe that it is our responsibility to support the desire of our residents to lead a purposeful life regardless of what their capabilities might be. We find independence is increased and enhanced when opportunities for engagement can be found in all facets of living – mind, body, heart, and soul. Through listening and responding to the voice of our treasured residents, we are better able to support what “living a purposeful life” means to them.
