We realize that sending a child to an overseas summer camp is a tremendous act of faith by parents. At Ranch Pacha Kamaq, located in Lima - Peru, we take that responsibility very seriously and maintain an environment that encourages both safety and health while providing our campers (ranchers) with the opportunity to be immersed in a complete international experience and become global citizens.

Enrollment Each year Ranch Pacha Kamaq welcomes boys and girls, ages 12 – 16, from all over the World. Most of our students join us from the U.S. and many from Europe and other locations.
Summers are forever! Every summer at Ranch Pacha Kamaq is filled with fun, friendships, learning, excitement and palpable opportunities to experience internationalism. Ranch Pacha Kamaq will help your child develop character, while learning Spanish, interacting with international boys and girls of the same age and discovering Peru’s history, natural surroundings and exquisite cuisine.
Our Ranch Name The Pacha Kamaq name derives from two Quechua words: “Pacha” and “Kamaq”. “Pacha” means “World” and “Kamaq” means “Creator”. Together, these words mean “Creator of the World”. At Ranch Pacha Kamaq we believe in the benefits of creating a World without borders, one that brings us closer to each other. This is why we invite children from abroad to have a Peruvian experience full of color, flavor, food, culture and history, but above all, full of excitement. It is an amusing way of building bonds between countries, languages and cultures.

About
About our Ranch Ranch Pacha Kamaq´s History
Ranch Pacha Kamaq is managed by Mrs. Pilar Deza, the founder and Headmistress of Casuarinas College, a leading International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program School in Lima, Peru. Since 1975, Casuarinas College receives children from all over the World and has over 1000 boys and girls currently enrolled. Many Casuarinas College students participate in exchange programs with sister schools in Canada (École Secondaire Publique Deslauriers), Chile (St. Gabriel´s School), China (Chinese International School), Finland (Linnankoski Upper Secondary School), Germany (Goetheschule Essen Gymnasium), Holland (Stedelijk College Eindhoven), India (St.Peter’s School), the United Kingdom (The North London International School) and the United States (The Dwight School). Our sister schools often send their students to Casuarinas College. Ranch Pacha Kamaq was created to provide international students with an entertaining opportunity to discover Peru while enrolling in a first class summer program developed by Casuarinas College.

At Ranch Pacha Kamaq, cooperating with each other and having fun is always regarded as more important than winning, and attributes such as honesty, loyalty, friendliness, generosity and ranch spirit, are a priority for us.
Our Location Our Ranch is established in Pachacamac, approximately 15 miles south of Lima, 20 minutes away from Casuarinas
College. It is a wonderful town within the beautiful Valley of Lurin, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by wilderness.

Our Facilities Our Ranch covers approximately eight acres and is enclosed by magnificent hills that in the months of June and July are filled with spectacular green. We have a big soccer field, many comfortable bungalows and a spacious Ranch House where many activities take place. Additionally, ranchers gather in the Ranch House to read, share the experiences of the day or go online to keep in touch with their families. We also have a beautiful and light filled Dining Hall where ranchers are served three full meals per day. Ranchers have the option to stay inside or enjoy their meals at our picnic tables set up right outside our Dining Hall.

Caring for the environment At Ranch Pacha Kamaq we are convinced that caring for the environment is one of the most important lessons we can teach today’s children. What children learn today, will determine how the Earth is cared for in generations to come. While exploring and discovering through dozens of interactive activities, ranchers will learn the importance of these natural areas and to appreciate them.

Social Responsibility At Ranch Pacha Kamaq we consider that emotional intelligence and sensibility are as important as knowledge. For this reason, we offer a dedicated social work program which gives our ranchers the chance to commit themselves to helping the people of Pamplona Alta, a very poor town located south of Lima. There, we sponsor a center for the prevention and control of malnutrition in children and we run a pre-school for infants in need. Our ranchers will have the opportunity to handpick fruits and vegetables from the garden in our Ranch and bring them to our center, where they will be used as part of a program to enhance the nutrition of the infants we serve. Under our strict supervision, our ranchers will also be able to help our center by building houses for Pamplona Alta´s residents. Community Service: 4 hours per week.

Health and Safety Ranch Pacha Kamaq attentively cares for the health and safety of each of our ranchers. Since the foundation of Casuarinas College, we have instilled a culture of responsibility and concern in our staff, and are fully aware that ample supervision of activities is of main importance. Ranch staff is trained to report any concerns immediately to the administrative and medical staff on-site and to quickly inform parents about any concerns. In addition to treating any illness and injuries, our on-site medical staff will help maintain a sense of good health and tender loving care at Ranch Pacha Kamaq.
Food We are convinced that well balanced nutrition is a key in maintaining our ranchers’ energy. Therefore, we make delicious and nutritious choices geared to the appetites and interests of our ranchers, including native fruits and vegetables, as well as a wide range of international food. Today, she is the President of CEA, which enrolls approximately 1300 students through Casuarinas Preschool (preschool), Casuarinas College (elementary, middle and high school) and other non-scholarized educational programs in Lima and other Peruvian cities. Family matters Our ranchers call home once a week and are encouraged to write home using our computers. We also invite you to call or email us anytime – whether you want to let us know how much you like seeing one of the secured videos or photos we post online, whether you want to ask about camp activities or your child´s progress, or just to alert us to any special needs your child might have that we should know about. We welcome your input year-round.
Why choose a summer program abroad? Learning Spanish in a Spanish-speaking country enhances a child’s education and benefits him/her more than if he/she were attending a regular summer camp program in his/her own country. As our ranchers will share our facilities with their Peruvian counterparts, they will have the opportunity to make friends and communicate in Spanish on a regular basis and, therefore, immerse in the Peruvian lifestyle, which will grant them a unique life experience.
