AL Sawaber Finding a solution to re-alive the complex again

57

AL Sawaber

AL SAWABER The building was made to suit a new Kuwaiti family and to fulfil their daily needs and to provide a perfect environment for the people that will live there. Thus, it was expected to be the new standard for residential buildings that affiliated to the public authority of housing welfare of Kuwait.

Design Process 58

AL Sawaber It failed to sense it diverted from the original plan and ever detect it could not provide the necessities progressing families needs. Until this moment since the project submission in 1989, there is only one parking spot per family unit which makes conflicts for residents to consider the complex as a place for long-term living. Also, the other pressing problem was and still is the traffic flaw inside the block that contains the complex it did not have resolved due to the narrow streets. Design Process 59

AL Sawaber Questionnaire

Questionnaire was base on asking the people that were living there to get from them the impressions about the complex and almost the residents from different nationalities. Thus, this led the Citizens to abandon the apartments and give them to the real estate offices to find a way to rent them.

Design Process 60

AL Sawaber AL Sawaber proposed ideas

Complex main problems : 1- Traffic problems. 2- Parking problems. 3- Lack of services.

Design Process

4- Not applying architect Arthur’s intentions. 5- Insecure place. 61
