Vision Brainstorming Template
Now that you’ve spent some time reflecting on the current state of your school’s vision and academic core, use the following template to brainstorm your own ideas for making your school’s vision more inspiring and energetic. You can also use it in a brainstorming session with your leadership team.

A vision is a tool that allows you and your staff to define the future of your school in vivid terms. It helps define the path for continuing rigorous, effective practices and identifying things your school needs to accomplish. A vision creates a clear, specific, compelling, and motivating picture of the school in two to three years. When establishing a vision, use your heart and dream big!
Choose adjectives and phrases that clearly describe the school and staff in two to three years.
Determine school, department, and grade-level goals with specific numbers and percentages of achievement gains.
Think of stories that describe in detail what’s happening at your school in just two to three years.
Jot down picture ideas or actually sketch a few to illustrate what things in your school look like in two to three years.
Write several sentences incorporating all your preceding thoughts to get a sense of your school’s vision for the next two to three years.
