WHAT IS THE COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MANAGERS? Madras Management Association has been organizing the 'Competition for Young Managers' annually since 1996. The event aims to recognize competitive excellence among young managers and provide them with an unparalleled opportunity to hone their analytical, creative thinking, problem solving, team work and leadership skills. This is one of the foremost and hugely popular competitions exclusively meant for young managers working in public and private sector organizations. It brings disparate teams of young executives from the corporate world on a common platform to research, analyse, discuss and deliberate on a theme of contemporary managerial interest and national significance. It provides unique opportunities for young managers to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, experience and professional prowess, grooming them to become the “Leaders of Tomorrow”.

ABOUT THE THEME “2047: The New India – Economy, Partnership and Growth” The convention theme, "2047: The New India – Economy, Partnership, and Growth," envisions the centenary celebration of India's Independence as a momentous milestone. As the nation stands on the brink of its 100-year journey, the narrative is one of unprecedented growth and progress. The focus extends beyond economic prowess, emphasizing the integral role of partnerships and holistic development in shaping the future. With a population exceeding 1.25 billion, the collective aspirations of a vibrant India demand a meticulous approach to nationbuilding. Beyond economic considerations, the agenda underscores the critical importance of delivering high-quality education, healthcare, and other essential services. In pursuit of these aspirations, the convention aims to deliberate on strategies that extend beyond economic metrics. It seeks to foster collaboration and partnerships that transcend boundaries, leveraging the strengths of various stakeholders to propel India into a new era of prosperity. The vision for 2047 extends far beyond economic benchmarks, embodying a steadfast commitment to elevating the overall quality of life for every citizen. This comprehensive approach encompasses—ensuring access to world-class education, establishing a resilient healthcare system, fostering sustainable urbanization and infrastructure development, championing climate action, nurturing global partnerships, and addressing the diverse needs of essential sectors. Through these concerted efforts, the aim is to sculpt a future India where prosperity is measured not only in economic terms but also in the well-being and fulfilment of its diverse and dynamic population.

KEY POINTERS TO PARTICIPANTS Predicting the future is inherently uncertain, but we can identify some key areas and trends that may influence the future of India in 2047, especially in terms of economy, partnerships, and growth. Analyse: India is likely to continue experiencing significant economic growth, becoming one of the world's leading economies by 2047. Some major areas of focus could be healthcare system, fostering sustainable urbanization and infrastructure development, championing climate action, nurturing global partnerships, and addressing the diverse needs of essential sectors. While there are ample opportunities for growth in various sectors, we must address limitations in material, financial, and human resources as we continue to expand. Assess: Does a growing economy in GDP terms actually reflect the financial well being of Indian citizens? Is it sufficient for India to remain an agrarian economy and serve the world as its global back office if India has to be a super power by 2047? What course correction is necessary and how well are we prepared to remain focussed in growth in a constantly changing world order, shaped by fluid geo political equation and opportunistic alliances across the globe. Will the fabric of Indian society and its political ecosystem learn to master flexibility, adaptability, for India to navigate and thrive the global challenges? Advocate: Expects have concluded that inclusive growth is the “growth that has a high elasticity of poverty reduction”, i.e. It should have a higher reduction in poverty per unit of growth. Equity to access for basic facilities, equality of opportunities for every citizen with the aim of protecting the interest of future generations is a long haul, but the ultimate dream of every modern society. As a society, where do we stand, and how do we make this century, truly our own, for the larger good of humanity at large.
