“Visionary”
individuals

families
who
have
staked
their
personal wealth and founded great enterprises globally with a view to tap into the opportunities provided by the markets. It is these very family businesses who have been the prime movers of the Global economy! Business families have great inherent strengths for running a business enterprise successfully and the reason for this is – Commitment, Knowledge Continuity, Legacy and Long-Term Orientation. Some of the Large business houses in India have become household names and have tapped the Capital market and provided investors with “premium” returns and contributed to the exchequer enormously. They

due
to
implementation of best practices in management. There are many hidden jewels in India promoted by individuals and trading families and have been successful but chose to remain as private unlisted companies. Yet, a vast majority of mid-size family businesses collapse after the 3rd generation due to family squabbles, inter-generational conflict, sub-optimal decision making etc. It is important to diagnose the reasons behind this phenomenon and provide a solution framework for - preventing value-destruction, preservation and unlocking Shareholder Value.
