Group Captain Dr R Venkataraman, is the General Manager of Madras Management Association. He is a military veteran who served the Indian Air Force for 26 years before taking voluntary retirement. He was involved in operations and served at frontline bases along the Pakistan border during Kargil conflict, in Assam during Operation Bajrang against ULFA, and Operation Parakram after the Indian Parliament attack. He was commended by the Chief of Air Staff and Commanders-in-Chief for his meritorious service.
He also had the rare distinction of serving as Deputy General Manager (ATS) at Chennai International Airport, during his deputation to AAI.
A doctorate from the University of Madras, he also holds an M.Phil in HR from Bharathiar University, and three post graduate degrees in Business Administration, Corporate Secretaryship and Defence Studies.

During his research tenure at the Centre of Air Power Studies, New Delhi, he published the book “India’s Higher Defence – Organisation and Management” in 2011. His articles regularly feature in newspapers, magazines and Journals. He has delivered talks at various institutions in management, defence, geo-politics and behavioral sciences. His other interests include dramatics and music.
