Synopsis
The field of medicine is constantly evolving with newer technology now available at our disposal to effectively diagnose and treat patients in a timely manner , which ultimately improves quality of life.
Ophthalmology in particular has made great strides in this realm, with high end instrumentation and data now available to detect eye pathologies at an early stage. The litmus test for any diagnostic technique is its sensitivity which is the ability of a test to correctly identify patients with a disease and specificity which is the ability to identify patients without the disease. Diagnostic technology today is now becoming highly sensitive and specific, such that we are able to detect disease in a patient years before it reveals itself and starts to cause visual impairment.
Dr. Arulmozhi Varman, renowned Ophthalmologist who has been at the forefront of utilizing advanced diagnostic technology to improve patient care, will be elaborating more on the same and how science and technology is able to reach out to the patient and deliver appropriate care in a timely fashion.

Dr N V Arulmozhi Varman is a leading Ophthalmologist/ Eye Surgeon in Anna Nagar, Chennai with an experience of 38 years in his field. Dr Arulmozhi Varman completed his MBBS from the Madras Medical College in the year 1980. Later, he acquired his Post Graduate Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery from the Madras Medical College in the year 1987. He holds a brilliant academic record of having secured the gold medal for topping the MBBS examination and also secured the first place in his Post Graduate Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine & Surgery. Dr Arulmozhi Varman is not only an astute clinician but an experienced instructor too. He has travelled across many countries to perform and teach Phacoemulsification cataract surgery. A master of PHACO, with extensive experience, he has conducted over 150 PHACO training programmes in India and abroad and has successfully trained more than 300 surgeons including those at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
A Strategic thought leader, Quality Driven, Passionate serial entrepreneur, he has nearly redefined the perception of the Small and Medium Industry in the Manufacturing space, especially around Asset Light Manufacturing, apart from guiding his Retail organizations towards an innovative and customer centric excellence model.
A Strategic thinker, he believes in creating and sharing wealth, which he has demonstrated across the group, a mid-tier conglomerate, straddling the domains of Asset Light Manufacturing, Consultancy and Retail.
His trend setting HR initiatives has been featured regularly in most leading business journals like The Business Line, Economic Times, Auto Monitor, The Business Standard, The Financial Express to name a few.
