Indianretailindustryhasemergedasoneofthemostdynamicandfast-paced industriesduetotheentryofseveralnewplayers.Itaccountsforover10%ofthe country’sgrossdomesticproduct(GDP)andaround08%oftheemployment. TheretailsectorinIndiaisexpectedtoreachawhoppingUS$2trillioninvalue by2032,accordingtoarecentanalysisbytheBostonConsultingGroup(BCG). IndiaranksamongthebestcountriestoinvestinRetailspace.Factorsthat make India so attractive for retail markets include the second largest population in the world, healthy economic growth, changing demographic profile,increasingdisposableincome,urbanisation,andaspirationalconsumer preferences.
India’sretailsectorisexperiencingexponentialgrowthnotjustinmajorcities and metros, but also in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cities and Towns. Hence there is enormousscopeforemploymentandgoodpotentialforcareergrowthinthe RetailSector.
Madras Management Association, in collaboration with leading corporate retailschains,hasembarkeduponanovelinitiativetooffercertificatecoursein retailtoenableyoungmenandwomenwithpenchantandpassionforacareer inretail, toworkwithupmarketretailbrands.
MMA invites applications from graduates with 0 to 3 years of experience to undergoathreedaycertificationprogrammeinRetailSales.Only50candidates with reasonably good communication skills would be selected to undergo the threedayimmersionprogramme.Oncompletionoftheprogrammesuccessfully, thecandidateswouldbeinterviewedbytheleadingretailbrandsforplacement
The course is excevely designed for entry level sales professionals and young graduates with the passion for career in retail sales. The three days course will providesufficientopportunityfortheparticipantstolearnand practice soft skills, behavioral skills and selling skills. Selling techniques and concepts, will be taught in a simple form so that Salesmen can have a proper understanding and implementinstantlyintheirday-to-dayfuctioning.
MMA will award course completion certificate to the participants who successfullycompletethethreedayprogram.Inaddition,MMAhasrequested a few partner organisations to interact and evaluate the suitability of participants for any opening in their organisation. Selection will be purely based on performance during the interaction with the partner organisation and the offer of job role will be at the sole discretion and prerogative of the partnerorganisation.
onSuccessfulselectionandplacementasalaryofaroundRs.18,000/-willbe consideredandcouldbemorefordeservingcandidates.Wearealsopleased to share that the fee of Rs. 3,000/- will be refunded to the successful candidates who join for duty as per terms and conditions of the the partner organisation.
