The purpose of the meeting was to learn more about the implications of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation‟s (RWJF) Initiative on the Future of Nursing (IFN) and its impact on the future role of nurses in the health care
delivery system in America. A significant portion of the meeting was webcast live from the National Summit on Advancing Health through Nursing, which took place in Washington DC. A Message from Dean Lisa Ann Plowfield As I consider this closing message to you, I know that exciting times are in the future of the College of Nursing. President Barron has launched a university wide “Big Ideas” campaign that will insure a strong future. As friends and alumni, you will continue to be proud of FSU and FSU Nursing! Our students are academically stronger than ever; as interprofessional collaborations enhance the education of health care professionals, we will continue our excellence in educating and developing nurse leaders. As alumni and friends, your support is critical—your financial support will help strengthen nursing education, your outreach helps market FSU nursing, and your time spent volunteering for FSU further contributes to our success. As you have done for me, please continue to keep FSU nursing leaders informed of your thoughts and ideas for moving professional nursing and FSU nursing education forward. Indeed, you are our greatest asset! Until our paths cross again, my best to you. Go Noles!
