PROGRAMMING & CONCEPTING

The first phase of our projects is the programming phase. This phase is predesign and is critical to determine scope of work and identify the project team. Understanding the critical path of the project provides the basis of the project timeline. The client’s aesthetic wishes for the project, level of detail and finishes, function needs, furnishing style, budgetary requirements and identifying preferred vendors are key to programming every project.

The first design phase is the concept phase. In many cases this phase may be broken into two distinct milestones; concept and schematic design. Within the concept milestone; plan review, space planning, mood imagery and initial material palette ideas are developed. DEVELOPING& RESOLVING

Once the project team has fulfilled the concept phase, the design developing phase builds on those decisions reaching to the entire project scope, past that of the key spaces. This phase pushes the design concept into every corner of the project to develop and understand all of the interior spaces and how each space will function. At this point in the project the main objective is to ensure the design and function needs are working together in harmony.

After the design development phase is completed, the project is at the point where the design can be resolved; when all of the decisions of the clients and design team come together and the interior design documentation begin to take shape. A preliminary set of documents may be issued, including; furniture plans, reference plans, ceiling plans, flooring and tile plans, lighting plans and interior elevations.

DETAILING & DOCUMENTING

Once the client has approved the design phases, the in depth detailing of the project’s designs begins. In this phase the interior design drawings are fully coordinated with consultants and vendors as needed. The detail work is required to ensure the design execution is created.

After the design details are developed and coordinated, the production of the working drawings are developed with the required construction information. In addition to the set of drawings, supplemental specification packages of plumbing, lighting, cabinetry, finishes and paint schedules are submitted. The documentation type is specifically tailored to the needs of the project and client.

FINALIZING & REALIZING

The implementation of the design is overseen by the design team. They work closely with the consultants and contractor, problem solving as needed, through all stages of the construction process. This phase also includes review of shop drawings and other consultant coordination as the reality of the spaces comes to life. Installation of the furnishings and adding the final touches are the conclusion and most exciting milestone of the REALIZATION of the design for each project.

Pelican 1 Owner, LLC, has chosen Marc-Michaels Interior Design Inc. as interior designer for Mystique, the new ultraluxury high-rise in the exclusive Pelican Bay community in Naples. Located just steps from the beach, the 20-story Mystique features 68 estate and four penthouse residences with expansive living spaces and terrace views toward the Gulf of Mexico from most units. Additionally, Mystique offers nine Jardin residences.

The sales center designed by Marc-Michaels Interior Design has been created to showcase several features of Mystique’s sophisticated design, including luxury kitchen and bath vignettes. High-end technological features were incorporated into the sales center to demonstrate the sophisticated level of integrated technology in each residence. Mystique’s sales center is located at 6885 Pelican Bay Blvd. in Naples, FL.

The Doha Convention Center Tower, 551 m (1,808 ft) tall, shaped like a tapering obelisk, will house offices on the lower levels, apartments, a hotel and penthouse residences on the upper floors. At the very top, a private club will occupy a 60 m (200 ft) high glass cylinder surrounded by extensions of tower’s facade and supported by a structural helix .

This project will be built by Turner Construction with Architecture by Murphy / Jahn Architects and design by Marc-Michaels. The specific project strategy for this project will not be unlike similar projects of this magnitude undertaken by our firm. The same principles and standards will be applied to the specific deliverables with consideration given to all guidelines and directions set forth by the Client. Marc-Michaels Interior Design has provided and will continue to provide comprehensive deliverables as requested by the Client.

Marc-Michaels Interior Design is responsible for designing all common areas, including the spa, interior swimming pool and the private residences.

A hotel commissioned Marc-Michaels Interior Design to redesign their restaurant originally designed by the firm several years ago. To fulfill their missing niche of a seafood inspired restaurant, the firm was in charge of revamping the old space into a cutting edge seafood/ sushi restaurant. The clean modern designs included mixed metallic elements and glass with oceanic inspired features. A large custom glass bubble chandelier along with a flowing wave-patterned glass light fixture delivered the feeling of a true under-the-sea dining experience.
