A MESSAGE FROM YOUR BOARD
T
his has been an exciting year for the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation. We have been working closely with our hospital and the Kaiser leadership team to assist in any way we can with the upcoming conversion to a privately operated community hospital. While change is always difficult, we are extremely optimistic that this transition will improve the quality of medical care and service to the people of Maui. With change in the air and 2017 marking the 20th anniversary of the MMMCF, we felt it was important to initiate a strategic planning process for the Foundation, in partnership with Kaiser. To that end we selected Marts & Lundy, a highly reputable consulting firm, to lead us in the planning process during the first quarter of 2017. We look forward to establishing a new and compelling vision for the
Foundation and improving our integration with the hospital along with our overall impact. One of the most exciting outcomes of 2016 was the establishment of our first major gifting program, the Hospital Hui. This new giving club was formed specifically to raise funds to support and improve emergent care. More than 24 donors pledged $50,000 each over 5 years to help ensure that our Emergency Room, Operating Room, and Intensive Care Unit have the doctors and equipment they need to save lives right here on Maui. A committee of doctors from each of these life-saving departments is being developed to advise the Foundation on the most strategic use of the Hui funds. The Hospital Hui also inspired the establishment of other new giving clubs, making it possible for all community members to support the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation at whatever level is right for them. I am honored to serve as President of the MMMCF and extremely grateful to my fellow board members and the Foundation staff for their personal commitments of time and resources to make our only hospital the very best that it can be. I also want to acknowledge all of the hospital personnel, from doctors
and nurses, to administrators and aides; I know that the transition to a private operator has been difficult for everyone. Our entire community owes you each a debt of gratitude for the wonderful, conscientious care you continue to give day in and day out to every patient that comes through the doors of Maui Memorial Medical Center. Thank you all. We at the Foundation will continue to support you in creating a hospital that is second to none. With Aloha,

F
irst and foremost I would like to thank
you for your continued support and personal investment in healthcare on Maui. That old saying “If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything,” is true. Accidents happen, illnesses occur – but through it all, Maui Memorial Medical Center is there for you, no matter what, during your time of need. Perhaps your baby was born at MMMC, your mom had a lifesaving surgery at MMMC, your best friend sought help in the ER after an emergency, or you were a patient yourself…we all have a connection to our hospital. Together we have come so far since the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation began 20 years ago. Created because of a generous bequest from a grateful patient named Richard North, over the years the Foundation has provided millions of dollars in support to our hospital. And as an exciting future stretches out ahead of us, together we will accomplish even more. Together we will help provide life-saving equipment, services and staff. The MMMC Foundation funds training and continuing education for clinical staff, sponsors community outreach programs, and purchases life-saving equipment for our hospital. As you will read in this report, the MMMC Foundation recently purchased a $200,000 state-of-the-art surgical neuro-navigation system for the Operating Room. Other purchases include infant warmers for newborn babies, wireless EKG machines for

Together we will assist patients in need of help – patients who are our family, our friends, our neighbors. Our breast cancer screening program funds mammograms and ultrasounds for Maui women who would otherwise not be able to afford these life-saving procedures. Our pediatric dental program helps kids with special needs to receive dental treatment in a hospital setting. We also have specific funds to help patients who are homeless, mentally ill, economically disadvantaged, or have specific diagnoses such as angina pectoris, and children with Type 1 diabetes. Together we will make Maui Memorial Medical Center the best it can be. As the hospital transitions from State management to the nonprofit Maui Health System, MMMC will continue to operate as a community hospital, open to everyone, regardless of their insurance provider, or even their ability to pay – just as it always has. On July 1 we will begin working through our long list of priorities – expanding our stroke, cardiovascular, orthopedics and trauma programs. Reducing ER wait times, creating more

As you can see, the needs of our hospital are great – greater than any one organization can provide for alone. Your support is vital in order to keep up with fast-moving technology, to attract and retain high quality staff and to improve and expand services. To create and maintain a state-of-the-art hospital open and available for all of us here on Maui, we need you! Together we will make Maui Memorial Medical Center the best it can be. In Gratitude,

n 2016, the MMMC Foundation purchased a $200,000 state-of-the-art surgical neuronavigation system for MMMC’s Operating Room. “It’s like a GPS in your skull,” says Maui Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon Dr. David Crow. The system provides a live 3D image of a patient’s head and is accurate up to less than one millimeter. It is instrumental in safely performing procedures such as complicated sinus surgeries, certain types of brain tumor removal, as well as in trauma cases involving skull injuries. Funds to purchase the $200,000 piece of equipment were raised at MMMC Foundation’s annual fundraiser at Spago Maui. Previously the hospital had a system that was decades-old and no longer functioning or repairable. “This new equipment is infinitely more accurate and greatly enhances patient safety,” said Dr. Crow, who uses the system on a weekly basis. “In the past, surgeons would have had to make significant incisions in a patient’s face to perform sinus or

certain types of brain tumor surgeries. With this neuro-navigation system, surgery is safer around important anatomical structures and because it is minimally invasive, patients heal faster with less pain.” “We are so grateful to the MMMC Foundation for purchasing this latest technology for us,” said MMMC Chief of Staff Dr. Ronald Boyd. “This incredible donation helps us to provide the highest quality care for our patients, while also allowing them to stay on Maui for procedures, rather than having to travel to Oahu.” “Maui Memorial will always remain a community hospital, open to everyone regardless of their insurance or ability to pay,” said MMMC Foundation Executive Director Lisa Varde. “Even with the upcoming management transition with Kaiser Permanente, the needs of our hospital are great – greater than any one organization can provide for alone. The generous support of our community will always be crucial in ensuring that we have the latest equipment and resources here on Maui.” The new neuro-navigation equipment is the current standard of care across the country, and with a life span of approximately 10-20 years, it will enable hundreds of Maui patients to benefit for years to come.
A RECORD-BREAKING EVENT!
N
ovember 17 marked our 6th annual fundraiser generously hosted by Spago Maui. The intimate and sold-out affair attended by 90 guests raised an astounding, incredible and record-breaking $1.2 million for the MMMC Foundation. Funds raised will go toward improving critical care areas at the hospital – Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, and the Operating Rooms. Thank you to event Co-Chairs Tamar Goodfellow and Karen Williams, our auction donors, guests, generous donors and of course Spago Maui, who all contributed to the success of this event. We couldn’t have done it without you! A very special mahalo to our generous sponsors: Title Sponsor Kaiser Permanente, and Platinum Sponsors Arita Poulson General Contracting, Dorvin D. Leis Co., and Goodfellow Bros., Inc. Thank you all for your unwavering commitment to improving healthcare at our community hospital!

MAY | Mahalo to everyone who participated in the 2016 Charity Walk that brought in $54,000 for the hospital.
INFANT WARMERS KEEP BABIES SAFE & COZY n November 29, MMMC Foundation gave former hospital CEO, Wes Lo the honor and farewell he deserved while doing good at the same time! The event’s goal was to create something special and reflective of Lo’s impact on the community. Complete with an “Are You Smarter Than Wes Lo?” game, heartfelt presentations from board members and close friends and simply a gathering of community members – the event was a great success, and raised $55,000 to start the Wes Lo Fund to support the hospital for generations to come. Wes first joined the Maui Region Health Systems as Chief Financial Officer in 2004, and was named Chief Executive Officer shortly thereafter. During his tenure, Wes worked diligently to improve the Maui Region, which includes Maui Memorial Medical Center, Kula Hospital and Lanai Community Hospital. This all culminated recently with the Hawaii State Legislature’s passage of Act 103 – granting the Maui Region the opportunity to pursue a public/private partnership. “I was immensely humbled by the event and all of the community members who took time out of their holiday schedules to support our Maui hospital,” said Wes. “A million mahalos are not enough to express my gratitude.” Thank you Wes for all you have done for our hospital and our community!

he Atherton Family Foundation, Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co., Kiwanis Club of Kahului, and the HEI Charitable Foundation all made it possible to purchase four new Panda Infant Warmers for MMMC’s Labor & Delivery Department. The previous warmers were nearly 20 years old. The warmers provide vital, state-of-the-art support for all newborn infants at the hospital. As newborns can easily become cold, the warming units are available for all deliveries to help prevent hypothermia. Cold stresses can lead to hypoglycemia (low sugar), respiratory distress, hypoxia (low oxygen level), acidosis and other complications. This is especially true for low birth weight or premature infants. During early or difficult deliveries, the warmer becomes an absolute vital necessity. With the new warmers, physicians can deliver oxygen and apply resuscitation procedures as needed while the baby remains in the warmer. 1,800 babies are born at MMMC every year. Mahalo again to the Atherton Family Foundation, Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co., Kiwanis Club of Kahului, and the HEI Charitable Foundation for their generous contributions that made this possible.

ver the course of a few days in March, Makawao resident Jennifer Delaney was having tightness in her upper chest that would come and go. Her doctor had her do an EKG, which looked okay, and then a stress test on a treadmill, which did show that there was a blockage in her heart. After getting an angiogram at Maui Memorial Medical Center, the results showed that she needed to have double bypass heart surgery. “MMMC’s Dr. Dorheim and P.A. George Lam were incredible,” says Jennifer. “And everyone in the ICU was magnificent – all the nurses, physical therapists – I really felt well taken care of. On the first day after my double bypass, the staff wanted me to just get out of bed and sit in a chair, but I felt good enough to walk – the staff called me a ‘track star’ because of how well I was walking!” “In 2004 my husband had a major heart attack and we had to fly to Oahu for treatment. It was so stressful and costly. I am thrilled that we have these services here on Maui now. No one ever wants to be a hospital patient, but I know if I am again in the future, I will be in the best hands at MMMC.”
“I WILL BE IN THE BEST HANDS AT MMMC.”
obert Harting and his fiancée Deb were swimming at Makena Beach when Robert began suffering heart attack symptoms. After assistance from the lifeguard and two MMMC nurses (Corinne Mongelli & Amie Hitt) who also happened to be at the beach that day, Robert was taken by ambulance to Maui Memorial Medical Center where the Cardiac team was waiting and performed an angioplasty and inserted a stent into his closed artery. “I had a major heart attack, the kind you normally don’t survive, that without the intervention of strangers who had never met me until that day, I would not be here now,” said Robert. “Corinne and Amie are exceptional human beings, to get involved and help when most people would look the other way, they are both true heroes and I owe them my life.” “The caliber of people employed at Maui Memorial is exceptional, from Corinne and Amie the two brave heroes on the beach, to everyone I dealt with until I was released; I never felt like a patient, they made me feel like I was part of their family.” “Dr. Lee who led the Cardiac team, in my opinion the best doctor I have ever encountered.
He was thoughtful, kind and went out of his way to explain and assure that all our questions were answered. His bedside manner and the level of commitment to his patients is seldom seen, truly one of a kind and the hospital should be thrilled to have him on staff. Then the daytime RN, Amy Klann, last but certainly not least. She made what could have been a horrible situation a pleasant experience, how many people can say that about their stay at a hospital! She treated every one of her patients like they were all that mattered. I never felt neglected or unimportant, no matter how busy or tired she seemed, she always had a smile and truly cared for the people she was assigned.” “It is a rare thing to have so many exceptional people working at one place and I would highly recommend Maui Memorial Medical Center to anyone that needed health care…they could not be in better hands. Due to them I am alive today and have a second chance at life. I am truly grateful to everyone that touched my heart.”

MMC Foundation’s Breast Cancer Screening Program funds mammograms and ultrasounds for Maui women who would otherwise not be able to afford these life-saving tests. We partner with M¯ alama I Ke Ola Health Center, which refers women who are in need of help. Since 2005, our program has helped nearly 800 Maui women at a cost of $263,249. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Hawaii with approximately 860 cases of female invasive breast cancer diagnosed in the State each year.

Ka´ahumanu Center and the MMMC Foundation presented the 1st Annual Kokua 4 Kokonuts, a fun new event to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The walk at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center raised nearly $17,000 to
support the MMMC Foundation’s Breast Cancer Screening Program. A heartfelt mahalo to our Pink Sponsors Roselani Ice Cream/Maui Soda & Ice Works and Queen Ka´ahumanu Center, and to all our walkers! The funds raised from this event will help more than 50 women receive mammograms or breast ultrasounds.
Susan G. Komen Hawaii
The MMMC Foundation received a very generous $35,000 grant from Susan G. Komen Hawaii. With this donation, a total of $85,000 has been received over the last three years from Susan G. Komen Hawaii to help us continue and expand our breast cancer screening services for uninsured or underinsured women on Maui. With early detection we can save lives, and our goal is to never turn away anyone needing this assistance. Mahalo Susan G. Komen Hawaii for helping us to continue this vital program.
Betty’s Beach Café
2016 marked the 7th year that Betty’s Beach Café in Lahaina has sponsored a fundraiser for our Breast Cancer Screening Program. Every October, Betty’s features food and beverage specials and a portion of those proceeds are earmarked for the MMMC Foundation. Since their annual event began, Betty’s has donated nearly $24,000. Mahalo Betty’s Beach Café for your loyal support.

pencer Heit is your typical active 25-year-old…except for the fact that he had emergency open heart surgery at MMMC. A Maui windsurfing instructor and guided hike tour company owner, Spencer came to the hospital with severe flu-like symptoms and a bad headache. After running extensive tests that came back negative, doctors ordered an echocardiogram on his heart, where they found a large amount of bacteria. He was diagnosed with endocarditis (an infection on the lining of the heart) and was immediately scheduled for open heart surgery. Endocarditis is very uncommon in normally healthy people. “Dr. Dorheim said it was fortunate I am so young and active, because with the amount of bacteria on my heart, most people would have already had a stroke,” says Spencer. “Everybody at the hospital was so amazing and I am really, really thankful.” Spencer and his fiancée Haley recently got married and are looking forward to a long and healthy life together. Congratulations!

FEBRUARY | A big mahalo to Maui High School senior, Amber Estrada for her donation of children’s print pillow cases for our Pediatrics Department. Amber purchased material appealing to young children and personally sewed them for our youngest patients. “Receiving something special means a lot to a young child when they’re not feeling well and are needing to spend any amount of time in a hospital”, said Lisa Varde, MMMC Foundation Executive Director. “We hope that Amber’s generous gesture will inspire other young people to also give back to their community.”
SEPTEMBER | The 4th Annual Kiwanis Club of Kahului Golf Tournament was held on September 17 and raised over $21,000 for our Pediatric Department. The mission of Kiwanis is to serve children, and the partnership is a natural fit. Funds from past tournaments have been used to purchase phototherapy equipment for babies with jaundice, sleeper chairs so that parents are able to stay overnight with their sick child, and state-of-the-art infant warmers for our newborn babies. This year’s tournament supported our Pediatric Dental program for children who are medically compromised or have special needs. Mahalo to the Kiwanis Club of Kahului for their continued support!
JANUARY | For the second year in a row the Foundation was the recipient of over a hundred stuffed animals from Kay Jewelers. Customers at Kay Jewelers could purchase a stuffed Bear or Puppy at the store to be donated to the hospital for its pediatric patients. These help bring comfort to our keiki when they are faced with an Emergency Room visit or hospital stay. We cannot thank them enough for their continued support with these thoughtful donations.

OCTOBER | MMMC’s Pediatric Department received a special gift from employees of Hawaiian Airlines and Bank of Hawaii. Employees from both companies delivered more than 50 “Malu” Hawaiian Monk Seal stuffed animals to our Pediatric Department. Lori Joy Watanabe, Hawaiian Airlines Program and Financial Manager stated “We, along with our business teams who partner on the Hawaiian Airlines MasterCard program with Bank of Hawaii decided we wanted to do something for the community. Something small but meaningful that we would feel good about…and this visit in particular was a special one since we were allowed to actually visit with some of the children in your hospital. JANUARY | The Foundation recently received a series of original paintings from Maui artist Anna Good. “We are so very thankful and honored to have this beautiful donation for our department,” said Candyce Ornellas, Haleakala East Nurse Manager. “Our unit feels warmer and more comforting for our patients and visiting family members and friends. This warmth will positively impact our patients through their recovery and healing for years to come.” Born in Ohio, Anna was raised and educated in California where she received her degree in Sculpture from the University of California. She moved to Maui in 1979 where she initially made her mark as a scrimshaw artist. After eighteen years of work, she chose watercolors and oil painting as her next form of expression. Her pieces are exhibited in galleries nationwide and are found in the collections of Tippi Hedren and Siegfried and Roy. MAY | Over 150 handmade bears and blankets were delivered to the Foundation from Jamberry, a company founded by three sisters that produces and sells a variety of nail care products. While here on island for a convention, the company wanted to give back to the Maui community. We are thankful for the special donation that is being used to help make a visit to the hospital a little less scary for our pediatric patients in our Haleakala East and Emergency departments. “We are so thankful for the teddy bears and blankets we receive as they are given to our pediatric patients to help allay their fear and anxiety. The parents are always appreciative when we give their child a teddy bear and blanket while they are in the ER, especially the really sick ones. They especially help when a child is getting a procedure done – it helps calm them and we can more easily complete procedures. Sometimes I’ve seen our hospitalized children use the teddy bears to hold on to when getting shots or IV starts,” says Julius Montehermoso, Emergency Department Nurse Manager. Thank you to Lyndsey, Christy, and Keri, the founders of Jamberry, and their employees for these thoughtful gifts.

HOSPITAL HIGHLIGHTS HISTORIC AGREEMENT FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF MAUI HOSPITALS
10
MAUI MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION
O
n January 14, 2016, Governor David Ige, the Maui Regional Board and the Corporate Board of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation signed an agreement transferring the operation and management of Maui Memorial Medical Center, Kula Hospital and L¯ ana´i Community Hospital from the State to a new nonprofit organization – Maui Health System, a subsidiary of Kaiser Permanente. President of Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Mary Ann Barnes stated, “We are committed to serving all patients regardless of their health insurance, and working alongside medical staff from the community to bring high quality care to the people of Maui and L¯ ana´i.” “This agreement ensures quality healthcare services and improved delivery of those services for the Maui region. The governance structure assures a continued role for the Maui community in the governance of the facilities, and revenues generated in the Maui Region facilities will be invested back into those facilities,” said Governor Ige. “The signing of this agreement is the culmination of years of efforts by many individuals inspired by their vision for health services in their community,” said Dr. Linda Rosen, CEO, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. “As a physician who has worked in healthcare across the state for over 30 years, I am confident this change will bring stability and growth in healthcare jobs for employees, along with increased health services for the residents and visitors of Maui and L¯ ana´i.” The official transfer occurs July 1, 2017 and will usher in a new day in healthcare for our Maui community. MMMC will continue to serve everyone just as it always
has – regardless of health condition, insurance provider, resident or visitor, or even ability to pay. No one is ever turned away. Maui Health System will manage day-to-day operations and will bring much-needed stability and resources. Maui Health System’s number one priority is the care and safety of all patients and they have pledged to do everything possible to improve and expand services on Maui. Maui Health System is actively hiring physicians, registered nurses, nurse’s aides, and administrative positions. Governor Ige predicts the transfer of hospital services will save the State $260 million in hospital subsidies over the next decade. In the 2017 legislative session, lawmakers approved State funding to include: • $36.4 million in general funds in FY18 for working capital and operating subsidies for Maui Health System. • $6 million in Capital Improvement Project funds in FY18 for Maui Health System facilities repairs, renovations and upgrades.
Ray Hahn KAISER PERMANENTE VICE PRESIDENT & AREA MANAGER
Dr. Barry Shitamoto MMMC INTERIM CEO
Even before officially assuming operations, Kaiser invested tens of millions of dollars in new equipment, systems and staff training. However, the needs of our hospital are great – greater than any one organization can provide for alone. This is why a partnership was necessary to ensure that all of us on Maui receive the best quality care possible. MMMC’s capital needs alone (facility maintenance, repairs and upgrades) are estimated at $200 million. Solving the puzzle of improving healthcare on Maui requires a partnership trio – a partnership between the State, Maui Health System, and you – our community. You are the third piece of the puzzle. This is the largest privatization ever to happen in the State of Hawaii. Change will take time, and many things will not happen overnight. But the success of Maui’s only hospital needs you. Your continued support can help us accelerate improvement. You can help us expand services so that you and your loved ones can stay on Maui for treatment, and not have to travel to Oahu. A partnership between the State, Maui Health System and you is the prescription for success for our hospital. Mahalo!

et With The Guidelines-Heart Failure is a quality improvement program that helps hospital teams follow the most up-to-date, research-based standards with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing hospital readmissions for heart failure patients. Launched in 2005, numerous published studies have demonstrated the program’s success in achieving patient outcome improvements, including reductions in 30-day readmissions. Maui Memorial Medical Center earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure patients and is dedicated to improving the quality of care for our patients. Implementing the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure program helps to track and measure success in meeting internationally-respected guidelines.
LEGACY OF LIFE MAUI MEMORIAL MEETS THE GOLD STANDARD
E
ach year, many patients on Maui need an organ transplant in order to survive. In 2016 Maui Memorial Medical Center had 12 patients who were eligible organ donors. “The gold standard nationally is to convert 75% of those eligible patients into actual donors. At MMMC, 100% of these patients left the gift of life for someone else who needed their help to survive – an amazing feat, not easily duplicated,” said Albert Newman, Hospital Services Director for Legacy of Life Hawaii. Legacy of Life Hawaii is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and healing lives through organ, eye and tissue donation. MMMC’s conversion rate for successful organ donation is higher than any other hospital in the State.

To qualify for the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, hospitals must meet quality measures developed to reduce the time between the patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster tissue plasminogen activator, or tPA, the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat ischemic stroke if given intravenously in the first three hours after the start of stroke symptoms, tPA has been shown to significantly reduce the effects of stroke and lessen the chance of permanent disability.

MMC Foundation’s Guardian Angel Program provides patients and their families with a meaningful way to recognize a hospital department or caregiver who made a difference for them during their stay at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Guardian Angels receive a certificate and a customcrafted lapel pin to wear proudly throughout the hospital. Hearing words of appreciation from a patient or their loved ones means so very much to our staff. It is with these generous gifts that we are able to perform medical miracles every day. If someone went above and beyond for you or a family member while here at the hospital, please consider making a Guardian Angel donation in their honor. Your gift will help ensure that we continue to meet the health care needs of our community.

MAUI MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION
elen MacArthur passed away on April 28, 2017. She was a passionate and committed member of MMMC Foundation’s Board of Directors. Helen had a kind and generous soul, always wanting to help and pitch in wherever needed. From making thank you calls to donors, to collecting signatures to help get the hospital legislation passed, to driving upcountry in the pouring rain to pick up centerpieces for an event, to simply always saying “please” and “thank you,” you could always count on Helen. She had a great gift for making everyone feel comfortable, no matter who you were. As a volunteer for countless nonprofit events, she knew the enormous amount of work it took to put on an event and was always grateful and thankful to everyone else who was working so hard. She said her goal as a Realtor was always to become invaluable to her clients….in the process, she became invaluable to Maui. She will be missed.

A MESSAGE FROM THE TREASURER
T
hrough the generosity of our donors and the exercising of their privilege to donate, in 2016 the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation (MMMCF) contributed to the enhancement of healthcare on Maui through vital equipment purchases, providing breast cancer screenings for those in need, and patient assistance, to mention a few. It was a year of transition for Maui Memorial Medical Center as the partnership with Kaiser Permanente created a new nonprofit entity, Maui Health System, which will manage our community hospital. 2016 was also an exciting year for MMMCF with the inception of the Hospital Hui, a group of philanthropic Maui citizens who have pledged their five-year support to be used strategically to improve emergent care in order to save lives. Cash position at December 31, 2016 was much stronger than 2015. Our investments, which are being well managed by our investment teams also closed the year higher. Temporarily restricted funds, which are used by various hospital departments for their programs significantly increased from $533,412 to $1,704,226. Your generous donations also enabled MMMCF to extend over $287,000 in funding for much needed hospital equipment, programs and education. My heartfelt mahalo to all donors for supporting MMMCF. It truly is my privilege and honor to serve as treasurer for MMMCF.
