Mexicans attacks on American land and 17 Americans were killed. This was the first on land battle since 1812. Many people wanted land for that because to

have money. By the end of the battle and in 1910 150,000 United States coast guards were stationed at the United States Mexican border.

• In 1914 9 crew members went on to shore and were off the USS dolphin. They were captured and were held captive for 9 months and they were released unharmed. On the next day the United States wanted an apology

What China & Japan did is Wrong! The war with Russia was probably wrong because Japan was a nation that kept itself and never really bothered with near by neighbors. Japan was doing fine by itself and by going to war with Japan went though a lot.

• The Open Door Policy was made so America could get some ground on China . Most other nations had trade with China, but America did not. The Boxers killed people to show that his group of characters were serious. The name Boxers was originated in the western parts of America . The Boxers gave themselves a bad reputation from these dangerous acts on other nations.

• The war with Russia and Japan was a battle in which Japan wanted to show it’s power. Japan got some territory along with the war. By Japan winning the war with the Russians and becomes the most powerful army in East Asia . America makes the Open Door Policy so America could get some trade from China and never heard back and takes it as a yes. The Boxer Rebellion was a group of socialists who killed foreign missionaries and Chinese Christians. In June 1900 the Boxers attacked the capitol city of Beijing and killed hundreds.

• The Hawaiian annexation transformed Hawaii and its people in two ways.Hawaii is 2,000 miles west of California, it was a convenient spot for the U.S. It was good for naval bases and coaling stations for ships traveling to and from Asia. American had sweet tooth and loved sugar. They wanted Hawaii for its sugar cane tycoons and pineapple plantations

Captain Cook arrived in Hawaii in1778 where he established a monarchy. There was profitable trade in sandalwood. In the 1820s, brought with him missionaries and traders from New England to Hawaii. But with Cook there was diseases and Hawaiians had no immunity. The Hawaiian population declined from 300,000 (1770s) to 40,000 (1893). Americans investigated in sugar industry, Hawaiian sugar growers grew rich off of the Americans. Not many Native planters were left after the diseases, so Hawaiians brought workers from Japan, China, and the Philippines.

• Shaky reports by The Journal about the sinking of the U.S. Maine used yellow journalism, causing the SpanishAmerican War and the battle at San Juan Hill. • Yellow journalism also caused the Spanish American War. The Journal stretched the truth. and said the cause of the explosion was because of a Spanish attack on the Untied States. Why they did this was because of another newspaper company was selling more papers then the Journal. So the Journal decided to make up the story about the USS Maine being sunk by the Spanish. Shaky reports on The Maine and yellow journalism led to the Battle at San Juan Hill. The Battle of San Juan Hill , also known as the battle for the San Juan Heights, was a decisive battle of the Spanish-American War. it was also the most violent and bloody battle of the war. It is also where future vice-president and president, Theodore Roosevelt was awarded the Metal of Honor. if the Journal didn't stretched the truth using yellow journalism, the whole Spanish-American war could have never happened
