As the Assistant Sixth Form Leader, my role is to ensure the development, progress and enjoyment of all of our students on a day to day basis; whether that is offering expert guidance on the UCAS process, or sourcing exciting opportunities for students to experience.

Where do you plan to be in September and what will you be doing? Lancaster University studying Business Analytics and consultancy with an industrial placement.

How has Colton Hills Sixth Form helped you to develop? It’s great to be in an environment with other capable and motivated students. I’ve become more efficient and independent. What opportunities have you had for learning outside the classroom? Our Sixth Form Centre is a quiet space where I can get on with my work. The ICT facilities are excellent.

How has Colton Hills Sixth Form helped you to develop? The helpful and caring teachers have been instrumental in my studies. Colton Hills Sixth Form has taught me to be more independent and unlocked an active desire to achieve my potential. What opportunities have you had for learning outside the classroom? The History visit to Auschwitz is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

How has Colton Hills Sixth Form helped you to develop? It has helped me to grow and develop my intellect with the high standard of teaching. It’s also really helped develop my social skills and confidence as everyone is encouraged to take part. What opportunities have you had for learning outside the classroom? Various workshops or placements with local organisations that helped enhance my CV.

Students work collaboratively with teachers to set their own measurable targets to ensure they know exactly what to do to improve their work and achieve their full potential. The Form Tutor who provides support and guidance on a daily basis enhances this process.

Our Sixth Form facilities Technology is ever expanding in the Sixth Form with dedicated laptops and desktop computers within the Sixth Form Study Area. Students have a quiet space for reading, independent study, university planning and access to kitchen facilities within the Sixth Form Centre. Our Library has numerous Journals and Periodicals which we update on a regular basis; our priority is to provide relevant reading material for all of our students. We are fortunate to be able to offer our students access to a number of our modern sporting facilities including our astro-turf, fitness suite, sports hall and swimming pool.
