Teen Service Learning Opportunities The Summer Leadership Challenge and Junior Counselor programs have replaced the old Counselor in Training Program. Two tiers of participation are offered to provide increased guidance, support and in-depth training to new volunteers and to offer a great service opportunity to our returning volunteers. Camps will not meet on July 4th.

Registration Process Registration for the Summer Leadership Challenge, Junior Counselors, Mainstream Companions and Therapeutic Recreation Camp Assistants begins at 8:30 am on January 17, 2012. Junior Counselors, Mainstream Companions and Therapeutic Recreation Camp Assistants must attend a training session. Attendance at the training is mandatory. Registrants will be prompted to select a training date during the registration process. There is no additional charge for training. Summer Leadership Challenge participants do not have a mandatory training requirement. Therapeutic Recreation Camp Assistants must attend both the TR Mainstream Companion/TR Camp Assistant and TR Camp Assistant Training on 6/2/2012. If this is your first time signing up to volunteer at one of our camps, you are eligible to register for our Summer Leadership Challenge. (Successful completion of this training program will make you eligible to register for the Junior Counselor Program next summer.) First time volunteers may also sign up for either of our two Therapeutic Recreation service learning opportunities. The mission of the teen volunteer program is to develop leadership skills, to help teens gain job experience and to provide assistance to our summer programs. We strive to help teens increase their confidence, communication and job–readiness skills. Student Service Learning Credits may be earned upon successful completion of the program.

Extended Camps As a service to working parents, campers may also register for morning or afternoon Extended Camp for an increased camp experience. Morning Extended Camp provides supervision from 7:00-9:00 am with low key activities that prepare campers for a big day at camp. Afternoon Extended Camp runs from 3:30-6:00pm and offers both active and less active fun to fit the interests and energy level of the campers as they cool down from a busy day. Extended camps are all about relaxing in a safe and secure environment. Camps will not meet Wednesday, July 4. Bells Mill Elementary School 324515 324516 324517 324518 324519 324520 324521 324522
