I had a vision –to create the greatest, most stylish, innovative, authentic, conscious, inspiring Fashion magazine /media movement on the planet. No small feat but one made easier by an extraordi nary team bringing together a collective of like-minded, passionate individuals, amazing talents, Fashion Designers and stylists, Professional Hair and Make Up Artist, and Photography from all over the world and forced you to keep asking the questions, ‘why?’ and ‘why not?’ So, what’s it all about? In a world full of imitation and replication, we wanted to do something or somewhat a community of support to artist on their long journey, dreams, inspiration, passions and ambitions. Something extraordinary, something that would stand out, be authentic and we could take beyond the pages of a Models Culture magazine. We scoured the planet for original thinking and genuine human connection; As we brings out the best of talents. We wanted the stories behind the story to inspire you but also to recognize this amazing individuals and resources so that an owned vision, goals and dreams would become attainable to you in your unique representation of your great passion. Fashion Industries became the businesses of professionals recently in line with their passion. It is the expression of beauty, talent, and creations. When you love fashion, there is no weekend. Everything just blends together. Fashion is for everyone regardless appear-
ance, size, measurements, height etc. who has uniqueness of beauty, attitude, and passion that comes around and became a culture of Models and photography and showcases them worldwide del. Models culture recognizes fashion talents, fashion brands, fashion artist through models culture blogs, to our social media platforms, and to models culture magazine. A friend told me “If a piece of art never seen, did it exist?” a philosophy of fashion industries from the very beginning. “It is the point of discovery that makes or breaks any artist’s career. At some case, it is heartbreaking when talent is not discovered and artist loses hope. World is full of challenge, well, we have seen this all over again, and again, and it echoes the brutality of the fashion industry.” We stand by you in that belief. We believe that your uniqueness can showed up and offer unique creativity that fashion industry is looking for. This is what Models Culture is all about. We’re traversing print, online (tablet, mobile, web, social) with a large dose of human interaction – you can also be featured on next issue as we working out the concept that suit the season.

Easywear continues to be big, we’ll still be wrapping up warm in cozy clothes that make us feel safe, but for 2019 comfort will also mean an eclectic succession of familiar pieces, that are also fail-safe in the style stakes. The overall trend might have been towards real clothes that are easy to throw on and a way of dialling seduction down to the everyday, but fashion didn’t forget about fun, color and glamour. Next winter will be determined, celebrating individuality and style with a multitude of trends that are dying to be worn. Choose yours.

WHY FASHION MODELS ARE NOT PRETTY.”
Models do not have to be pretty, classically pretty, will work against you. Because, it’s a bit boring. The very definition of a model is Models do not have to be pretty, classically pretty, will work against you. Because, it’s a bit boring. The very definition of a model is someone who has the unique characteristic that is aspirational or is the most extreme, intriguing, representation of something larger than themselves. It’s not enough to be pretty in order to be a model. Let me explain why fashion models aren’t pretty.
“What I’m looking for is uniqueness. i am looking for someone who does not look the same in every picture.” Jym sai.
Pretty is so general, and general is easily forgotten. In fashion, the idea of pretty is uninteresting and it’s not particularly marketable.
Jym stated, “I'd like to start a small conversation, solely for the fact that I'm looking for personality. Can they come out of their shell; some girls are like, No! I don’t, I don’t do that. If you don’t do that, sorry, well you're not versatile. A director's not going to want to work with you, because as a model, you are asked to do crazy things.” “I think it’s amazing when you see some girls like Yana, who just comes in and she knows the language, she can go from e-comm to high fashion, and she had a great walk. There's a girl that can go everywhere.”
Jym benzing, casting director support the statement of Robin Givhon. “Pretty. How do I deal with pretty is not well. Because there’s a lot of pretty girls out there, most of them are in television, and it’s not necessarily about being pretty. It’s about can you take the pretty and put something else behind it and I’ve doing this for quite long time. What we’re looking for, depends on clients, it differs because some clients are a little more edgy, say high fashion, they may want someone, say of a little more serious, a little more harder, a little more unique” If you’re selling fashion that is meant to be edgy, and subversive and rebellious, you pretty much don’t want someone who looks like, your next door neighbor's debutant daughter. If you're trying to sell something that is meant to be super sexy, you don’t want someone who looks like the soloist in a church choir... Pretty is not at the edges, pretty is right in the middle. So, for designer who is looking for, let’s say, a model to really represent a brand, you want that face to be memorable. A model is a rarefied creature. He or she is a fluke of genetics and timing and pop-culture enthusiasm. And in the 1980’s, when we had models like Cindy Crawford. She had a sort of classic, American beauty look. She was tall, and had this big mane of hair, and she was also curvy. Jym added “I help find models for advertising and runway show.” The quintessential waif of the era was Kate Moss, and she really sort of rose to mainstream prominence through the advertisements for Calvin Klein.
The main reasons that mark Wahlberg was in those Calvin Klein ads back in the day is because Mark Wahlberg had a really striking physique. He had like, what, a twelve-pack? I mean that was the point. And he also had a little bit of an edge to him. There was some, very particular, standout feature.
“And then you see a guy like Sebastian, who comes in, and he's just masculine, he's strong, he's sexy, but relatable. Like, I could see him doing consumer brands all over the place.” He added. The current state of fashion industry is a good one for models of color, but it’s taken some time to get there. “Diversity has impacted the industry a lot recently, because now we're looking for more people, more AfricanAmericans, more Asians.” Jym said. “Can pretty hurt you as a model? No, pretty won't hurt you as a model. It's only the very beginning of what they have to do. Because you have to be pretty and smart, pretty plus unique, pretty plus professional, pretty plus versatile, pretty plus an actress. There's a lot it involves.” He explained. It’s an industry that deals in fantasy, and dreams, and aspirations. In order to tap into those emotions, you really have to come up with ways that transport people. And that's part of what a model does, to take a person to some place that is very different from the reality. Jym mentioned how does pretty should go with a package. “Are you pretty and are you the right size, the right
INTERVIEW
height; all those things come into play as well. When you put somebody pretty out there, they have to do much more, it’s not just pretty.” What’s does the word model means? It’s not necessarily something that's reproducible, they're unique. The whole purpose of a great model is creating this images that are unattainable, but I think, that is part of what makes fantasies so enticing. You need some kind of tension, and to get that kind of tension, you need to have something that's unexpected or out of the ordinary, or in some way provocative. And pretty is sort of simple, and calming, and easy, and just not that interesting. I just explained why fashion models are not pretty. I didn’t finish my degree at The Art Institute for San Antonio because I didn’t want to waste my education funds on poor education. They didn’t have continuity books for the curriculum and for each class. The teachers would come and go. And I just didn’t feel like I was getting the best e d u c a t i o n . 05 LIPS AND FINAL TOUCHES
Fill in the eyebrows as it’s the best way to frame the face. Choose a color that slightly paler than your natural color. Fill in your eyebrows in light feathery strokes, making sure to accentuate and elongate your features as much as possible.
As per Ms. Emma “Don’t leave the house without the lashes curler” must. Always curl your lashes. As Emma says, it makes up your face. Starts at the very root of the lashes and little by little “walks out” towards the ends. Use a creamy eye shadows just like one’s from Ellis Faas. Use a brush to slowly apply eye shadow blending it into the socket line (but not all the up to eye brows.) Don’t dab a lot on all at once. Build the color slowly and in layers. With a small brush, also add a tiny line shadow under the eye.
Use a cream blush for daytime look. Use your hand to dab on the apple cheeks and then blend up and out. It is recommended the brand Pul & Joe’s is a good option. WWW.GOOP.COM HOW-TO-DO-YOUR-OWN-MAKEUP
Always mix lipsticks to get exactly the color you wanted. Firstly, dabs on lips directly with the stick. Then mix the color directly to your fingers, alternating lipsticks and applies directly to the lips. Using a thick brush, dust the T-Zone with a loose setting powder. This sets the make up and reduces shine.

LAYERING FOR NEXT WINTER
BLACK BLAZERS
Layering is front and center for next winter, with plays on texture and volume in a masterful game of accumulation. Balenciaga gave the illusion of nine layered items worn at once, playing with trompel’œil extremes to take on the arctic cold. At Chanel, layering was more discrete, with an updated hoodie worn over a padded jacket, over a dress.
The allure of a well-tailored blazer wasn't lost on designers in Paris —specifically, timeless versions in black topped the popularity list. Wear one tucked into combat trousers as shown at Givenchy for an updated take on the classic wardrobe staple. || Classic Black Blazer • Sweater • Black Trouser • Black Stilettos ||

About “I’m Rico John Guevarra, 33 years old from Marikina City Philippines, B.S Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate, freelance model/talent and former Mister Earth Philippines Ambassador 2015. Also, an advocate for children’s right and HIV/AIDS awareness. I’m supporting charities such as Journey of Hope under the bridge and Rainbird Philippines. It aims to empower children through education. For me, we can build a better society and we can start by educating children and teaching them good values. I grew up as a loner and a shy kid. I experienced bullying when I was in Elementary because of my feminine features. This caused me depression and lost my confidence. When I was in college some of my friends encouraged me to join modelling and school pageant. That was the start of my modelling stint. I transferred to Metro Manila to look for a job. Years later, a Talent Scout discovered me to appear on TV with minor roles. With my passion and determination, I passed some auditions and got some lead roles in some documentary segment program. Aside from acting experiences, I was invited to attend to some photo shoots, fashion shows in the Philippines and in other countries such as Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Until now, I’m doing photo shoots and trying to improve and develop my talents and my self in general. No matter what, I don’t care what others might say about me and might misjudged and criticized me. I already learned how to love my self and accept my flaws especially my femininity and I am proud of it. TALK ABOUT STYLE TEXT BY QHUILOUAH AQUINO
It was trending talks recently by Leah Glynn on styleetcetera about a style that rose trendly on fashion insdustry. The strong and conquering hair style as “Slicked Back Hair’. Well recently most of celebrities poses with this stunning hairstyle by female icons. The ducktail is a haircut style that was popular during the 1950s. It is also called Duck’s Tail, Duck’s Ass, Duck’s Arse, or simple D.A. and and is also described as slicked back hair. The go-to style move for every leading in 1940s Hollywood as well, slicked back hair is one style we’ll never fade. Thought slicked-back hair was just for guys? Think again. In case you hadn’t realised, the latest hair trend to have us stalking beauty websites and watching YouTube tutorials has been slowly making it’s way off the catwalk and straight onto our style radar. And the best part about it? It’s a look that is super easy to achieve, and has maximum wow factor. If you want to make sure you have the hottest hairstyle down pat this summer, then you’ve come to the right place.

IT’S THE NEW ERA IN FASHION. THERE ARE NO RULES. IT’S ALL ABOUT PERSONAL STYLE. STYLE THAT LOOKS SMART Whilst a jar of hair gel might cause some demons of past hair disasters to reappear (who here survived the gel strand epidemic of the late 90s?), you need to learn to embrace it, because this is your key ingredient to successfully creating the most coveted slicked back tresses. This hair trend is essentially about perfecting that ‘wet-look’. You know the one; when you step out of the ocean, flick your hair back and for about a second your hair is perfectly set in a pulled back, tousled kind of way. Then a breeze sweeps it away, or a wave knocks you over – ANYWAY – those few precious moments of hair flawlessness is exactly what you are after! GREAT HAIRSTYLE What is also great about this hairstyle, is that you can begin with either wet or dry hair. If you are completely committed to the look, begin with wet hair (best for a bob or short, cropped hair) and simply comb the gel through, from roots to tip, making sure to brush your hair back and away from your face. Do the same thing with dry hair, except only comb the gel through to the back of the head, leaving the ends dry and straightened. Whichever way you decide, it is a strong, sexy statement (team it with a smoky eye a la Emma Watson to really add the va va voom), that is sure to turn heads for all the right reasons.. NO BAD DAY HAIR Wet-look hair also combines exquisitely with a ponytail or bun to produce a dramatic, androgynous look that hints you stepped straight off the runway. Whether it’s a sleek side part (or the coolest comb-over anyone’s ever seen), or a straight down the middle centre part; which frames your face and further emphasizes the ‘slickness’, it’s a quick and easy way to put an end to bad hair days for good. EASY AND GORGEOUS Remember to finish with a strong dousing of hairspray, to ensure that your high-shine gleam won’t lose it’s sparkle (also to make sure your hair never moves again) and an extra dose of confidence. This is a powerful style declaration, and you want to make sure you totally own it!
THE CLASSIC Slick Back Hair As it was originally styled by men earlier of 40s and 50s, Fashion growth conquer female fashion as applicable to style with such hairstyle. In any discussion on how to slick back hair, it’s pretty unanimous that the classic slick back is the one to start with. Tru a timeless look, this style looks just as great in office, as it does on a night out. Bear in mind that whilst this style is easy to maintain and style in the morning, ideal for the modern man on the go, sadly it isn’t for everyone. Those with very curly hair will struggle to keep their hair in place. This type of hair will most likely revert to it’s normal style, but with an overkill product in it. It’s also not ideal for those with very fine hair, as it won’t carry the product well and can look more invisible than styled. If your blessed with the perfect hair type for the pompadour, however, then the classic slicked back hairstyle might be best place for you.

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANNA DABROWSKA ARTICLE OF FSTOPPERS.COM
F
ashion photography is most probably one of the most desirable fields of photography. We are lured by the prospect of working with the hottest and trendiest people out there. That is where I come from and all I can say is: what does not kill you makes you stronger. Fashion photography, it is a genre of photography that focuses on displaying clothes or other fashion items. Said like that it seems so bleak compared to its magnetic power. What started as a commercial need of brands to illustrate their collections became in the last 50 years a galaxy on its own revolving around a new sun, this season trendiness, and full of stars; stylists, fashion editors, fashion brands, hair stylist, make-up artists and obviously models. You cannot shoot a fashion spread without a crew. It is collaborative work where connections are way more important for a photographer then their lighting skills.
THE UGLY TRUTH ABOUT FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY what to expect.
M I
often work with prima donnas. Finally it entails a lot of will and creativity to build a portfolio with a recognizable style.
H
ere are a few reality checks so that you know
oney
A
career in fashion photography requires, well a lot of things. First of all if you want a real shot at it, you need to be in one of the fashion capitals, Paris, New York, London, Milan, where fashion is actually happening and where you can gain access to a crew. To help you bypass the queue in front of the door of editors or fashion houses, you are required to have patience or connections (ideally both if not you might have to consider cryonics). It demands that your favorite dish is pasta out of a can, as you might not see any real money for quite a long while. It calls for a lot of self-control as you
often hear photographer’s pest about image-makers that work for free. Working for free is normal in the fashion editorial world. And that is where you need to be if you want to be taken seriously. If it was just working for free for the time that you need to build your name, you could find a moral/economical investment to justify it. But it goes further then that: sometimes you actually pay to work. Does that sound ridiculous?
PHOTOGRAPHY
Y
es. And yet. It is common practice. Some editorial work pays a photographers fee, some reimburse your cost (and that is already great), and some pays nothing, leaving you to cover the production costs of a shoot, ranging from food for the crew to the retouching. Obviously when you begin you start at the bottom of the ladder.
W
eirdly enough when you do get paid you can find yourself being limited in what you are allowed to do. You will not be able to choose your styling or your model or even your crew. The stylist or the fashion editor becomes your client even if they are paying you pocket money. There are two ways of getting out of that jam. Either morph into a star photographer to whom people will unroll the red carpet, or lockdown the direction of the shoot before. If you feel that you are not given freedom, weigh the value of being published in that magazine. If it is not that crucial to your career move on and don’t look back. Avoid yourself the frustration for time spent on something that does not embody your style.
63
want to change. Don’t give your creative ideas out for free thinking that it is an asset. Give your client what they paid for (with a smile!) and only that (keep on smiling when you say no!). There is no other way to be respected.
Y
ou might also encounter publications that shred your layout to a point where you are not sure if you shot it, they can also forget to tell you that, ups, they cut the story all together and they never send you the printed magazine and sometimes not even the pdf. I have seen all that happen. It is shocking the first time. Not the second time around. You grow thicker skin.
T
he funny thing about money in the fashion industry is that there seems to be quite a lot of it but unless your name is part of the star system it seems to avoid your pocket. Clients rarely pay on time and some clients tend to forget about paying altogether. Agents and agencies are not to be always trusted either. My agent ran off with my money and exiled himself outside of France. No legal options possible. I guess he is sipping a margarita somewhere under a palm tree while I am learning voodoo.
C F
REW DRAMA
W T
ORK ETHICS
here used to be a time when fashion photographers would not allow interns, assistants, or anybody that was not essential to their shoots on their set. This paranoid behavior was explained by the fact that when photographers were shooting film, their light set-up was the ink for their signature. They did not want their lighting secrets to be stolen. Today with retouching it is not that important anymore. But beware of idea thieving.
ashion photography being based on a collaborative workflow, your crew is your secret weapon. It takes time to find people who you can count on to technically make your visions reality, who work with you towards a common goal, and who you like as human beings. Once you have found them you want to keep them with you on every shoot possible, especially if your careers have grown together. It just makes things fun and easy. Sometimes it is conflicting schedules that make it impossible, other times it is politics. The stylists and hair and make-up people that have careers in this domain work a lot, way more than photographers if you compare the actual time spent on sets. This translates in less excitement and less patience. They want easygoing days. On editorials, stylists will often impose either a hair or a make-up person, or both, because they want a friend that they can gossip with when they are waiting around. Clients that have contacts will do the same. Team members who are imposed on you have an annoying habit to overstep their roles and suddenly start directing the model, the shoot, or make comments on your light. That’s when self control needs to step in. To a point. If you let yourself be walked on once they will want to do it again. Channel the diplomat in you but make sure they get the message. Respect on a shoot might need a metaphorical bitch slap. Of course with a smile!
I
Y

worked for a Parisian brand that was just starting. I did their two first catalogues and my images ended up by bringing them an increase in sales rating 50%. Every time I got them deals on studios and crew, gave them very affordable photography and retouching services, and educated them on what was needed to make their shoots interesting for an efficient marketing approach. When I realized that they were choosing images for their catalogue based on how well the clothes looked and not on how good the images were I discussed the need for them to have a look book for their upcoming collection. I shot it for a low budget so that I would have more creative freedom on the advertising images. or their third collection they took all my ideas, my light concept, my location, but used another photographer. I stayed in bed for a week finding solace in Haagen-Dazs ice cream. I was young. I was an idealist. I thought that I had shown them enough good will and that we had built an honest working partnership. I was wrong. Don’t expect a happy client to come back to you. Appreciate it when they do. They might be happy with your work but they will still
ou might be doing all the right things and still end up with a team that just does not click. The hair guy hates the make-up artist so they will go out of their way to make the hair and then the make-up escalate during the day until you end up with a panda that put her fingers in an electric slot, the stylist did not order the clothes you asked for (“Daaarling I thought this would be more modern!”), the models agencies forgot to tell you that the model cut her hair yesterday and needs to leave 2 hours in advance to catch a train, and the art director shows up after lunch and decides that he prefers to shoots outdoors because "indoors is so 2009." In a nutshell: it is a shitty day and you are asking yourself, "Why did I decide to shoot fashion again?" hat’s the tipping point. You either embrace the craziness or you move on to greener pastures. At last if you decide to hang on to the fashion merry-goround you will have some emblematic stories to tell during social outings. A sense of humor to the disproportionate is a lifesaver. I am still practicing.

ABOUT
Uno5ingco photography is a product of an ordinary, dreamer, and passionate man from the land of what they called “It’s more fun in the Philippines” as he started his passion overseas while fostering a Good Samaritan to his family to sustain family needs. While he works to his chosen field, He drove himself on learning things, from scratch like anyone else that have passion. “At first, photography is only my escape of boredom (since life here in the kingdom is such a boring one especially for expats). I used to sit over an hour on social media time to time to ease some of it, but it wasn’t that cool... But through this, it opened my world of interest in photography. I have tried so many times contacting some photographers and asked for a help and teachings about photography but most of those people has no time to reply. My determination to learn was merely going down until one of them replied and offers to share his knowledge about photography. And it was free and the rest is history. Until this very moment I can still consider myself as a learner coz I know, continues learning is somewhat a great experience. “Great photography comes from that special moment when beautiful light, a unique location and dynamic composition all combine to capture and create emotion. The emotion may be the raw determination of a swimmer lunging to touch the wall, the laughter of a small child as she plays with a sibling, or that special feeling you have as you witness a once in a lifetime occasion. Whether photographing models for a specialty publication, or shooting a family photo session, this is my goal as a photographer, to capture those emotions, to record those moments, and to preserve those memories forever. My ultimate reward will come years later---when you look at your photographs and those memories once again come to life. “I have been a part-time photographer for years now and provided many models a great but simply from a beginner like me and beautiful memories through my photographs. My works was published to several magazine such as Elegant Magazine, Provocator Magazine, Beauty Mute Magazine and more not to mentions and in fact my latest was now you are reading, its Models Culture Magazine. For me as a new in this industry, It’s not about how hundreds of magazine you will be published, it’s about loving your passion by showcasing how you grow, and develop yourself, well, it is only a bonus to see your works loved by people who see it. It makes me proud. But at the end, being a photographer is not a one day billionaire to be instant. It requires more passion, dedication, and patience. And also eagerness to learn and learn. Just focus on your way… and it will fall at the right time and at the right place,

Kevin said “ I went through my high school days and always been told of what they judge me as “different “ and at first I didn’t understand whats that mean. My hair, facial features and the way I dressed just stood out from the rest. I embraced how different I was and how unique my look was. I’ve my fair share of road bumps with modelling just due to my size. I don’t fit the typical box of what male model looks like. “This is me, dreamer, spontaneous, passionate, sensitive and always with some reason to smile. I like to exercise, to go skateboarding, animals, modeling, all kinds of music and many other things. I am multifaceted and everything I undertake I devote all my effort. I consider humility, attitude and perseverance as the secret to success. I come from a family of separated parents. My father used violence against my family, including me. My mother could not continue exposing our lives and separated, there began a life of many struggles for her, my brothers and for me; but with the tranquility of a life without violence. I took stylist courses and discovered that my talent is modeling. I did not have money to study the modeling career but I tried hard and with the help of my boyfriend, I managed to raise the money. I studied modeling in the Hight model manager academy, directed by Diego Chain. I’ve been modeling for 4 months now. I have all my attitude, perseverance and passion focused on this work and dream. I have photographs taken by Miguel Ángel Rosales, a renowned and prestigious professional photographer, of incomparable talent. My best photos have been taken by him. I have been modeling for about 4years. I have done some promotional modeling, boudoir, swimsuit, implied, and lifestyle. When I was 12 years old I was told I would never be able to model because I was too short. My dream is to prove everyone wrong and walk the runway with the best of them. I always wanted to model and be a Victoria secret model pretty much like most young girls do but I was told at the age of 12 that I was too short and would never walk the runway so I never really pursued it. About 4 years aro I decided to dabble in modeling to help a friend and re discovered I was actually really good at it. So from then on I’ve been building my portfolio making connections going to auditions and trying my hardest to get my foot in the door and show everyone who told me I would never walk the runway because of my height that their wrong and I can do anything I put my mind and heart too.
