magine for just a moment that you could meet a child with no relation to our world. A child that comes from a place so distant so unimaginable so different from the places you know and it seems like another planet in another time. For centuries as people slept on the roof of the world dreaming, Their spirit was rich beyond all imagining, that the land was in no economic value. They slept thinking no one wanted this place but them.
Then one day, Invaders came and the unnamed child was called on upon to lead her people from danger.
To get to this place you would take a journey of a lifetime You would travel across the world and across the galaxies with questions to ask but along the way you will find many more answers. This isn’t your ordinary magazine It is visual, it is different . Can you solve the puzzle ?

Her wisdom came from beyond the stars from the mountains, wind & the trees to the rivers of the vast open space. Where a being can truly contemplate the scope and true meaning of their life’s.

She stands by the ocean hands by her sides, watching the coming and going of tides; watching the gulls as they hover above remembering the moments of days past . Smiles & rejoices , Ah what a beautiful life. She kicks off her shoes & takes off her socks; she takes a deep breath and she stares at the sun. Ah that hurt, she jumps and laughs. Nothing could replace this moment, Not anything. She closes her eyes and steps into the sea, she forgets all her thoughts, her mind is free. As her troubles drift away she goes deeper into the rushing water, letting the waves take control. These are the sensations of Spring that I adore.

Interview with Leonie Hertel Who’s your favorite fashion photographer ? Mario Testino is my favorite fashion photographer. His work is simply amazing in every way, One of my favorite publications of Testino is FRONT ROW / BACKSTAGE published in 1999, It captures the excitement and drama of international shows in Paris, London and Milan. If you weren’t a model or pursuing modeling what would you want to do for a living? After I finish school I would love to continuing studying to become a school teacher, I have always been interested in the educating young children What attracted you to the fashion world? Everything, Just the energy of the whole shows and the uniqueness of the everyone in the fashion world. Fashion is diverse, and the trends are always changing. I do like the fact that when a certain trend does come back in style, it’s always with a twist. Who discovered you, agency/scout/ ? Did you submit or were scouted at a public place? I was scouted by IMG trough Instagram, It was amazing and I’m very excited for what the future holds for me. How do you view the world we live in? I think that some people have too much power and try too hard to influence others. We should all accept and respect each other regardless of religion and pigmentation of our skin , We should love one another and respect our believes. Who is your role model? It has to be Sara Sampaio, She showed that even if nobody wanted her at the beginning she managed to be one of the best models of our generation. Any hobbies? I LOVE sports, I play sports for hours everyday, always staying active. I really enjoy running, Boxing, jump rope and climbing. Who is your favorite model? Susanne Knipper. She looks like a princess out of a fairy tail , so unique and fabulous.
Here are a few questions asked by our Instagram followers at @modelstopia
Do you have any stories of an encountering “ Mean girl of the industry “ ? Asked by Azia Armand @its.azia From Houston, Texas. No, luckily I haven’t experience nor met THE MEAN GIRL in the industry. I have been fortunate enough in meet loving people in the fashion industry. Do you see yourself Crossing over into acting, television or Broadway? Asked by Danny Daniels @dannydanielsnyc From NYC. No, I’m not really interested in acting, maybe sometime in the far future I might consider that, it could be lots of fun. Hello Leonie, I’m a 14 year old model as well & one of the things people I’ve worked with always say “ Stay humble and don’t let the nature of what you do go to your head”. What do you do to stay grounded in the modeling industry? Asked by Noah Bryce @stickii_bludd From Lake Charles, Louisiana Yes, being humble is very important to me, at times some people tend to lose grip of reality and start living in the clouds, I really enjoy reaching out to people and I always try my best to reply to my followers as much as possible. Being humble also reflects in the photographs, It is incredible what you can learn about other people just by opening your heart and embracing everyone as equal. I’m also 14 years old, what can you tell to those girls around the world who wish in becoming a fashion model someday. Asked by Laura Casteno @lauracastanoa From Palmira, Colombia If you have the passion for it , anything is possible. Anything is possible but only if that is what you believe. See, if you are the type that says no, anything isn’t possible – that will also be your reality. If you believe there are limits to what you can achieve based on the excuses you put down, like your limited opportunity, like where you live, like lack of funds – well, those limits become your reality because you won’t even attempt something outside of your limited mind-set. The one that believes anything is possible will try anything. Will attempt greatness. Will risk everything to be anything but average. And even if they miss the target, they will be far ahead of the one that never tries.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Asked by Breya Birdsong @breyaabirdsong From Indianapolis, Indiana. Travelling around the world, something I always wanted to do, I also see myself doing a lot of voluntary work, I really enjoy helping people in need.

All the editorials and beauty looks were so unique and each brand had a different style. Now that I am part of this industry, I could not think of anything I would rather be doing.

And if you had the power to change the world how would you change it? I think the world we live in right now is an amazing place filled with opportunity. More than any time before, the youth has an opportunity to really make an impact and have their voices heard. If there was one thing I could change about the world, I guess it would have to be how kind we are to one another, kindness matters. We should embrace the differences and celebrate what makes us individuals and unique. Who is your role model and why? My role model is easily my mother. She is the most down to earth and hardworking person I know. I aspire to be like her in everything I do, she has excelled in so many areas of life and continues to motivate me in my modeling career. I don’t know what I would do without her!

Question by Marquise @dareal_quisee - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania You are so nice! beauty is more than skin deep, above all I always
stay humble and kind and that is the key to success :)
This has become an increasingly discussed topic in our society today.
Unfortunately we are surrounded by unrealistic expectations for our bodies, and it is sometimes hard to not compare ourselves to others.
I think what we say to ourselves impacts our own self-esteem a lot. I
encourage everyone to look at themselves in the mirror and say “I am
beautiful”. It is important for us to continually remind ourselves of this daily. We are all beautiful – inside and out. It’s also important to let
these young girls know that the models they look up to spend hundreds of hours training, so it’s not an accurate comparison. In my work life, I just work and focus on myself. I do not compare my career or body
with any other model’s and instead dedicate myself to becoming the best model and person I can be!

My Secret Garden
modelstopiamagazine.com
e It’s
not easy bringing a garden to life. Ask those who have succeeded, I don’t think you’ll find one, well not in this dimension. In my face there is flashing signs, don’t you see? My garden is alive, So much can go wrong on that long and exhausting journey from a design sketch to fabric to the reality of the finished piece. Nerve-wracking. By the time it was finally completed I think I’ve had chewed my fingernails back down to my elbows. Sometimes since I’ve been in the garden I’ve looked up through the trees at the sky and I have had a strange feeling of being happy as if something was pushing and drawing in my chest and making me breathe fast. Magic is always pushing and drawing and making things out of nothing even in fashion. Everything is made out of magic, leaves and trees, flowers and birds, badgers and foxes and squirrels, ah yes I can’t forget fabrics. . So it must be all around us. In this garden - in all the places. It is a garden of fashion. modelstopiamagazine.com

adding depth and soul
T
he importance of craft is key within NO/AN, coupled with Designer Anna Lehmusniemi the honesty that defines the whole brand. The bags are made in Portugal by a specialized and family owned atelier, where the artisans involved get to sign the styles that they produced by hand. Each bag is therefore linked to a human being, adding depth and soul to every NO/AN piece. The leather atelier where each artisan crafts one bag at a time from start to finish was chosen by the designer for its expertise with solid, natural grain leather. The skins come from a local tannery located in the region of Leiria. Bearing minimal details and using a restrained color palette, NO/AN bags are produced in small series, underlining their exclusive appeal. Double leather handles are one of the brand’s trademarks, as well as the collection’s graphic and geometrical lines, recalling Nordic landscapes and architecture. Anna Lehmusniemi made a clear decision to keep her production within Europe, delivering high standards, as well as longevity for her handbags. NO/AN’s leather pieces will therefore age naturally, following wearers wherever they go. NO/AN was born in 2016, mainly as a reaction to overconsumption and the reckless speed of the fashion industry. Reconnecting clients with the beauty of long lasting and patiently crafted bags, the Finnish designer imagined supple and relaxed styles, which could not be tied to any seasonal trends. Concentrating on the concept of a single collection which has the ability to grow and evolve over time NO/AN advocates a humane and slower approach towards luxury, as well as a subjective point of view.

The first challenge is obviously technical. The key component is the leather quality but the other details like accessories and handcraft are as important to guarantee the durability of the bags. I am not cutting corners when it comes to materials and manufacturing, even if it comes at a cost. The second dimension to make a bag durable is the design itself. I am trying to aim at a timeless design, so the bags can resist to the trends. 2. How important to the design is the aesthetic of the inside of the bag compared to the outside? The hidden treasure if you like of the design, the almost private design of the inside of a sleeve for example. For me it is important that the bags are beautiful and well made inside out. Of course the outside gives the first impression but if the inside is not well made as well, you quickly get disappointed. Personally I do not like too many pockets and separations inside of bags so the inside is pretty naked in the NO/AN bags. However, it is important to keep your personal belongings safe. That is why the NO/AN bags come with a relatively big zipped inner pocket. For the moment I do not put lining inside my bags because the backside of the leather is too beautiful to hide. It also gives the bags a “raw look that I like. Inside of every NO/AN bag you can also find the name of the artisan who made the bag
123
from the beginning to the end. This is my little hidden treasure inside of the bags. 3. What would you say was the key ethos to your brand and designs? NO/AN is a slow fashion brand which means that I do not create a whole new collection every fashion season. As a designer I got tired of the fast fashion seasons and wanted to create a brand that has a slower approach to luxury. I believe there is a slower and less stressful way to be in the fashion industry without being boring. I also think that you can create a more resilient aesthetic when you give the design process enough time. NO/AN is also an honest brand, we try to be transparent about where we produce and with what materials. 4. Do you intend to produce and design Vegan handbags & garments? For the moment I am focusing on leather bags but you never know what the future will bring. I think it is important to stay open minded. 5. It seems minimalism and stark design play an important role in the desired effect and working process. Can you tell the readers more about this working process and of any inspiring artists that have influenced your work? In my case, I am mostly influenced by different forms I see. These forms are often graphic, geometrical and oversized. Out of these forms I imagine new bag styles and I integrate the double handle concept to the styles. I want to create bags that are minimal but strong at the same time. I do find it interesting to follow what other creative people and brands are doing. I appreciate the aesthetics of brands like The Row, Loewe and Marni to mention a few.

Born a princess Watchful Eye
When the moon shifts its subtle weight and you leave at last what you love to hate, the friends you thought ill of, forsaken, will open their hands like petals in your Sun. The vultures will swing lazily about your Kingdom and whether it is love or road kill you will not be able to say. The name of the world is self and not self
4
The name of the world is written in the light on the waves of the wind. Release the shadows of Morning. For spring will not take you from behind without warning. Spring will take you swimming in Snowmelt Fabric and warm that hard thing frozen in your womb. When last did you look up, when last did you notice that watchful eye, some new thing circling? welcome to my Kingdom

ana Kalina, an amazing portrait and test model photographer is making a name for her self capturing natur al beauty at its mos t exquisite form. A t a ver y young age Yana picked up the camera and was a natural, capturing the subjects most truthful and organic side. She rocks her camera at a place where the mountains touch the clouds, the air is fresh and the sun/moon light dance across the skies. Photographing in such a beautiful place she quickly found herself enjoying how quiet and peaceful n a t u r e i s a n d t h e b e a u t y t h a t s u r r o u n d e d h e r. H oweve r, Ya n a ’s p a s s i o n f o r p h o t o g r a p hy h a s t a ke n h e r t o some of the most beautiful places around the world. From the sands of Bali surrounded by the beautiful forest and beaches to the beautiful motherland of Russia’s landscapes, Her approach to photographing models is to highlight the natural beauty of the location and capture the subjects beauty so the viewer can be dr a wn into the photo and f eel like they wer e ther e r ight beside her.

e are carbon, I am reminded from the evidence of the grains of the erosion of siliceous formed of a firmness of purpose but to what purpose I am still unsure, possibly just the chiselled fractions of conversations that we often leave behind collected in the half whispers of noise. Poised precariously on tiptoed feet I balance into the pose for the camera. Basking in the foetal heat scorching onto my fabric I’m aware of the annoyance of the buzzing and darting fascination of the stings in flight that try to catch my attention while surrounding my face and hair. The heat, while shooting, does nothing to quench my thirst as only the open fabric of cotton knitted thread of pattern augments both shade on skin and the humidity relentless.
Homage – Kaliver – Nat Kent
I unbutton the blouse its ajar folded into the contours of my skin, skirt white strawberry skies of Altocumulus Lenticularis envelope my reverie interrupted only by the click of the shutter at an irregular tempi. Dusts of dunes weave and tangle into my hair from the sea breeze as a hairpin protection the coastal waters with sleeve covered hands. The camera noise…click….. click, again with a steady irregular tempo juxtaposes the mono rhythm of the waves self-indulgent with crescendo against the rock formations with long sustained brass and low strings of minor key. The rocks silkiness cared from the constant moulded weathered waves of torturous [storm and drag] at night, anatomy the metamorphosis of architecture just as the continuation of curved camber dictate a wheel arch with sexuality of shoulder blade. Click….Click of the camera still, just as the motion of the tide draws nearer with the exact counterpoint of urgency of posing for the camera lens. Breaking up the enchantment of the suns ray that’s augmenting my rose kissed hair dressed in white cotton. A mighty splash of wave hits the rocks to a crescendo of tide, I motion to the photographer catching their eye asking if the photo shoot is all but done yet. No sooner had these syllables passed my lips; I became more conscious of the impending tide drawing faster in momentum. Completely unnerved, I leap from the rock edge and meet the photographer as they start to pack up the equipment [with nautical race] I glace back to the water and watch the overwhelming high tide motion of steady shifting ground of calmness binding the beach.
