Housing is above the reach of the average Nigerian, who is struggling to feed and pay school fees. Again, you cannot have affordable housing when the inputs to making housing are not affordable. Despite this, however, there are efforts by the government via institutions such as the Family Homes Fund - FHF, and Federal Mortgage Bank to help reduce the barrier to entry, especially for civil servants and other wage earners.
