A PROJECT BY TOMÁS FERNANDES
MI BALCÓN
ES MI
TALLER
During the period of four months, while living, studying and working in Barcelona, due to the lack of economical and spatial resources, I decided to turn my balcony into my workshop. This desire to create, although with limited resources, was very much part of me, so I took a manageable material, like concrete and began to experiment, forms and behaviours.
What you find is the result of mistakes, multiple trys, unknown functions, unclean and unstable ideas, yet, in the end, pleasing pieces. They represent a point of view of an idea, that now materialized, can inspire evolution or change, in form and proportion.
So as you’d figure, as I was about to finish a last piece, the opportunity to participate in an exhibition appeared. It was something gratifying, yet scary. So I exposed what could be done(this piece on the right) and where it was made(all what’s in my balcony, therefore my workshop).
