Zoom Into Virtual Programs

Partnering to Save Our Seas MODS’ environmentally-focused partnership with Save Our Seas Foundation brings global scientists, conservationists, researchers and educators to Museum guests of all ages through a FREE Distinguished Speaker Series with a specific across a spectrum of topics from white sharks to hammerheads, from sea turtles to coral reefs. The goal is to increase awareness of the environmental, social and economic importance of ocean protection here and across the world and to educate people to make a difference. Virtual attendees care about saving our planet, logging more than 5,700 hours watched and more than 1.6 million impressions.

Found from our FTP recreated PMS M3 with AARP MODS brings the joy of science and discovery to seniors through Movies, Music & More (M3), a FREE program for adults 51+ right in the comfort of their own homes. This virtual program offers brain activities, music demonstrations, streaming of IMAX films and live presentations by distinguished scientists, researchers and educators. The M3 program is also delivers locally to low-income, isolated seniors in partnership with the Community Foundation of Broward, reaching more than 100 low-income, isolated seniors at home and at senior/adult daycare centers.

GSK Science in the Summer This FREE summer education program inspires future scientists and engineers by providing opportunities for children to think scientifically, practice authentic science techniques and have fun! The program enables MODS to continue making an impact and supports our goal of inclusion and exposure to the STEM field by girls and underrepresented students of color. Delivered by MODS’ educators, the program reaches more than 800 low-income children both virtually and through STEM kits that were delivered through Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) and social service agencies in the Greater Fort Lauderdale region.
