WOODEN SPOON 1st Thursday newsletter M AY 2 0 2 0
THANK YOU
Intro from chairman Welcome to our May 2020 edition of our ‘First Thursday Newsletter’. The committee are meeting regularly, and the charity is working hard to help small charities in the UK survive in the short term. This has meant that we are able to support 5 charities in Worcestershire by getting them some immediate funds. You will remember that we are supporting Dines Green Primary School in Worcester and St Bartholomew’s in Stourport. These projects are moving forward despite the lockdown. We are in contact with both and will keep you updated. Both these projects will enhance the lives of the children and we are delighted to be supporting both Schools who do such a fantastic job. When we open these projects as soon as we can! The challenge is now for us to raise further funds to support future projects which will be difficult in the short/medium term as we are unable to hold events. The needs of our beneficiaries don’t go away so will continue with our best efforts. The best way you help in the short term is to join Spoon as a member. https://woodenspoon.org.uk/become-a-member/. We promise to get our events going as soon as possible. Please take time to look at our website www.woodenspoon.org.uk and keep a look out for posts from Laura. Thank you for your continued support; it really makes a difference. Remember – all the monies raised in the region stay in the region!

Thank you Wooden Spoon.
New Hope Worcester
Spectrum Days
The money will be used to fund activities in the summer holidays for example trips out into the community for the children we support. We are very grateful to Wooden Spoon for thinking of us to receive this grant & I know the children will have great days out as a result of this very kind donation. Thank you Wooden Spoon Worcestershire.
We provide a range of services to our members, including the vital building based activities. Currently they enjoy a myriad of therapeutic activities. Space is vital with the large amount of equipment, resources and people needed. Our membership continues to grow but we are running out of space to support them. The Cabin is currently in an inadequate condition, but has the potential to provide a fantastic space. This donation would allow us to sustain growth and offer alternative activities, using specialist providers with the potential to deliver art, drama, music etc. Creating a fantastic additional resource with opportunities to develop further workshops. With thanks to Wooden Spoon Worcestershire.
