Message from the President
Moeller Family, I always look forward to writing this letter. It gives me the chance to take a look at all of the things the Moeller Family accomplished over the last year. And, this year, we certainly accomplished a lot. I’m not sure about you, but I like to write lists. Obviously the best part is crossing those items off. But if I do something that wasn’t on that list, I write it down... and cross it off immediately! And that scenario was a large portion of the list last year.
Part of last year’s list included beginning construction, continue teaching with the REALearning academic philosophy, welcome a record number of 8th grade shadows to Moeller, continue to be the leaders in educating young men. We were doing a fantastic job! It was shaping up to be an amazing year at Moeller.
Then came March.
And you know what? It was actually MORE amazing. We saw the true spirit of the Moeller Family. Our teachers went from teaching in the classroom one day to teaching remotely 48 hours later. The IT department provided unparalleled support that would be the envy of many Fortune 500 companies. The community rallied for our virtual Main Event helping to provide for the Family Emergency Fund. We had an out of the ordinary graduation ceremony, well, actually 211 ceremonies, to celebrate the Class of 2020.
That was just in three months.
The summer has been filled with preparation to safely return to school. The teamwork of our faculty, staff, parents, alumni and students has produced an environment were we are able to get back to school five days a week.
Which brings us back to our list for this year. We have a lot on it and we’re looking forward to accompishing even more this year. The strength and character of the Moeller Family is like nothing else. We are sure to fufill our Mission – Catholic. Marianist. Forming our Students into Remarkable Men.
God Bless,
Marshall Hyzdu President, Moeller High School
