With the restructuring of Damansara Realty Berhad gathering steam MPM has been extending utmost assistance and co-operation in every stage of implementation. For MPM it is business as usual. We have our KPIs to achieve and issues to resolve along the way. The team and staff have been very positive and focus in ensuring that we clock new milestone in terms of our revenue and profit margin.Uncertainty will be the topic of the day. This comes in our overseas venture, office location and the most lingering question, is the outcome of the restructuring exercise by Damansara Realty Berhad. Not to be derailed by these matters we need to focus on our objectives. Immaterial what the outcome of the above may be, we still need to show the kind of stuff MPM is made of.

I am taking this opportunity to wish everyone “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir & Batin”. Hopefully everyone had a pleasant celebration. I will use this platform to provide the staff on the current development and other relevant matters that MPM are undergoing. Moving on from the last brief, MPM has embarked on the replacement of old equipment with new ones at chosen car park locations in beefing up our operations and also our image. We are also upgrading to Autopay machines for selected locations in our quest to reduce pilferages and improve our revenue. Apart from that we are also assessing our international venture namely Hong Kong and India. We need to ensure that our investment will bear the fruits. Or do we need to find suitable partner or new investor in relinquishing our shares in the entities? This will be a tough decision for us going by the amount and time that we have invested in these entities. Forming strategic alliance will be another avenue that MPM will be embarking in. MPM will need to identify and screen potential partners in forming this strategic alliance which can give us some leverage as well as leapfrog our main competitors. It must be done diligently and meticulously in order for us to reap the benefits of forming an alliance. MPM is currently in discussion with three parties which we have screened to embark on this formation. The restructuring exercise undertaken by Damansara Realty Berhad has caused some anxiety amongst the employees. Retrenchment, VSS and transfer to other entities were the order of the day in topic discussed by the employees. In assuring the employees, I would like to reiterate what Datuk Ahmad Zaki, Managing Director Damansara Realty Berhad had mentioned during the initial stage of this exercise which is “There won’t be any retrenchment or VSS to the staff as the outcome of this exercise”. Hopefully this will eliminate any notion from the employees that there will be a retrenchment or VSS exercise to be executed at the end of this restructuring. I am therefore calling all “Metromites” to realign ourselves, shelve away differences and unite in facing all diversities to ensure that we can survive the volatile market and achieve our set targets. Basing on the current records, we have already cleared the threshold and positive of achieving a new milestone for 2012! We still have another 4 months to go thus we need to warn ourselves not to be complacent and be over confidence but to double all our effort in grinding out the needed outcome and create another history for MPM. Insyallah, with everyone’s eyes trained and focused on the targets, we will have no difficulty in getting to the finishing line with flying colours.

TEAM BUILDING Teambuilding held on 13-15th July 2012 at Dusun Eco Resort, Pahang. 42 staff involved from Operation, Season, Account and HRA department from Central, Eastern & Northern Region 42 staff had been divided into 4 groups according to personality. It has been conducted by XPE Team Training. Activities conducted such as: rafting, indoor games, treasure hunt, roll the ball, bbq, presentation, talk and etc.

“MAJLIS BERBUKA PUASA” MP CENTRAL REGION This event was held on 2nd August 2012 at Bukit Kiara Resort. Attended by 52 staff including VVIP Datuk Ahmad Zaki, MD DRealty Bhd and The management. This event started with zakat talk by officer from Pusat Pungutan Zakat, Wilayah Persekutuan, KL at 6.30 pm until breaking fast time. After Solat Maghrib, all the participants was enjoy the Ramadhan buffet at the resort. Datuk Ahmad Zaki also give his speech and then presentation the CSR cheques to
SUPERVISORY TRAINING Supervisory Training was held on 13th June, 19th June, 11th July, 18th July, 5th August and 12th August 2012. Ithas been divided into 2 groups of Area Supervisory and Supervisory with 3 sessions. The trainer is Encik Ahmad Fiaza Abdul Shukor, Senior Branch Manager, Central and Eastern Region.

In conjunction of Job Fair 2012 that organised by PERKESO on 19th June 2012 at PWTC, HR Department had put their effort and participated this event mainly for recruitment purposes and searching new potential talent and human resources.
In the month of Ramadhan Al-Mubarak, Iftar at Stay House, held by MP Kuantan on 10th August 2012. This Iftar event brought all staff together for blessing relationship in the month of honourable and respectful.
OPEN INTERVIEW AT SITE OFFICE - MP CENTRAL REGION Job Advertisement had been post on Metro in newspaper for open interview. Position offered was CSA and Supervisor. Open interview had been held at KL Central, I-City and Wisma Consplat site office on 25th until 27th June 2012.
CARE & CLEAN - MP KUANTAN Metro Parking Kuantan held a Care & Clean campaign. The event was attended by Metro Parking Kuantan staff, Area Manager, Area Supervisor and Branch Supervisor. The aim of the event is to enhance the image of Metro Parking car parks.
CARE & CLEAN - MP PENANG A Care & Clean campaign was held by Metro Parking Penang from 26th until 28th July, 2012. This event was attentded by Metro Parking Penang staffs. It improves the surrounding and promote better relationship thus improving the image of Metro Parking Penang.

KURMA & KUIH RAYA DISTRIBUTION FOR CAR PARK STAFF The distribution of kurma and kuih raya among car park staff held on 8th August 2012. These are mainly to appreciate and make them happy with grateful especially during celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

FAMILY DAY MP SOUTHERN REGION The program start from 8.00 a.m. till 2.30 p.m. For registration, all staffs were given door gift goodies bag and breakfast are given respectively. Then opening speech by Club President and followed by opening ceremony by GGM. Staffs are divided into 4 group with colour of Red, Pink, Green and Yellow. This year Red Group Team overall winners in games and tournament. The highest scores among other 3 groups. Well done to Red Team. The activities that are held were 5 games for kids and adults, volleyball tournament between staffs and management, indoors games, quiz for staff and children till lunch break. The program continued with prizes given to all the winners and the lucky draw Grand Prize Hp Samsung Galaxy Advance won by staff Komtar Zone, En. Md Hazreen Ramlee, First runner up won by staff JB Central Zone, Pn. Hamidah Amir with Panasonic LCD TV and Second runner up won a camera Samsung by staff Pasir Gudang Zone, En. “MAJLIS KHATAM AL-QURAN & BERBUKA PUASA” This program was held on 13th August 2012 at Administration Office, KOMTAR. This kind of activities really had good support and response from staffs. Participation for Majlis Khatam Al-Quran, about 32 staff joined, and Wakaf Quran program about 22 staffs enrolled. They are some fees charges of RM30 per participation consist of maximum of 2 names shared. Other program held Taskirah by Ustaz Dahalan Hj. Mohd Din started from 4 p.m. till 8.00 p.m.
STAFF VISIT On 8th May 2012, En. Shahrul Azmi Bandi (President Club) with other club members under Social Community Burea visited MP staffs and family members that suffering with their chronic illness. Donation of cash RM300 with hampers were given to them respectively. Firstly, they visited for Puan Norhayati wife to En. Mokhtar staff MP TLK Zon BBU that suffering from nerve chronic syndrome that made her cannot walk at all. Secondly, they visited for Pn. Salmah wife to En. Mansor staff MP TLK Zon Senai that suffering with kidney failure that final stage and chornic that also cannot walk at all.

BOWLING TOURNAMENT – SOUTHERN REGION Metro Parking Southern Region held a Bowling Tournament on 19th May, 2012 at Angsana Bowl, Johor Bahru. The event was officiated by the Group General Manager, Hj. Ab Rashid Bukairah. There are 8 groups participated in this contest and each group consisted of four participants. The presence of players in the tournament is a total of 45 staff. Bowling tournament was won by a “Kumpulan Peransang” from Administrative Department. Hope this event bring closer relationship between the Southern Region of Metro Parking employees.
