MOFFITT SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
1. Where is the Symposium located?
Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 - the W. Jackson Pledger Researcher of the Year lecture will take place in the Stabile Research Building (SRB) Ted Couch Auditorium followed by a reception in the SRB Murphy conference room.
Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 - all activities will be at the USF Marshall Student Center.
2. Can I attend if I did not RSVP?
Yes, we prefer that everyone RSVPs, but you can still attend if you forgot. Link to RSVP: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B9R3ZDW
3. How can I get to the Marshall Center? Is there parking?
Reserved parking has been set aside for featured posters, oral presenters, committee members and speakers only. General attendees should walk to the Marshall Center or take the Moffitt shuttle which will be continuously running between Moffitt and the Marshall Center. Please review the transportation page in this guide for shuttle locations and times.
4. How do I know what poster session I can find certain presenters?
This guidebook shows the poster number for every presenter. The poster sessions are divided up by odd numbered posters (poster session #1) and even numbered posters (poster session #2).
5. Is there Wi-Fi available at the Symposium?
Wireless access is provided to guests of USF. Please follow these directions:
1.) Open your list of wireless connections on your device and select “USF-Guest”
2.) Once you are connected, open your web browser and attempt to navigate to a website. You will automatically be redirected to the Guest Registration page
3.) On this page, select your preferred method of contact. Either “call me on my phone” or “send me a text message”
4.) You will receive a temporary access code within 5 minutes. Select the option “I have my access code”. You will need to agree to the acceptable use policy to continue
5.) Enter your mobile phone number and the registration code you received and hit “submit”
6.) You are now connected to the USF-Guest network. The registration will last for 24 hours and is valid for 1 device.
6. What will the food options be?
May 16th Reception: selection of hors d’oeuvres including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options with beer/wine bar
May 17th Breakfast: assorted muffins, scones, danish, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and tea
May 17th Lunch: assorted sandwiches and wraps including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options, garden salad, potato salad, assorted desserts, and lemonade
Water and coffee will be available all day in the Ballroom on May 17th
7. How do I vote for the People’s Choice award?
Everyone who attended the Symposium on May 17th (and signed in at the registration desk) will receive an electronic ballot via email on May 18th. Deadline to vote is Friday, May 19th by 5PM. The winner will be announced in Signals the week of May 22nd. Featured Poster presenters and Oral presenters are not eligible for the People’s Choice award
