MOHAMMAD AHMADSHAHI M.ARCH / M.SC IN HEALTHCARE DESIGN INTRODUCTION
EDUCATION
After acquiring the M. Arch degree in healthcare facilities design, I started my journey at Clemson University as a Ph.D. student and after 2 years I found myself leaning towards a designoriented career more than research. I transitioned into a Master of Science degree in the Architecture + Health program and expect to graduate by May 2022.
Clemson University – M.S IN ARCHITECTURE (ARCHITECTURE + HEALTH program) Advisor: Anjali Joseph, Ph.D., EDAC Endowed Chair in Architecture + Health Design and Research Thesis title: U.S. Army Medical Command’s Medical Treatment Facilities’ Response to SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Research Focus Area: Pandemic Response, Resilience, Adaptability, and Implementing Change in Healthcare Facilities. My main area of interest is modular and prefabricated architecture, and I am experienced in implementing the BIM approach into various design procedures for healthcare projects. I am looking for a position in healthcare design teams and intend to get licensed as soon as possible to follow my post-academic career goals as a professional architect.

Ministry of Health and Medical Education / ADF LAB - Healthcare Director and Senior Architect 2016 - 2019 I developed my thesis results to a more detailed and refined version tailored to Iran's needs for temporary field hospitals. The project was designing and building a pilot OR module as a collaboration between the health ministry and the ADF LAB in IUST. This project was canceled as a result of receiving no funding from the ministry. ADF LAB – Healthcare Sector Director and Senior Architect 2018 - 2019 I developed mobile and temporary health care solutions for post-disaster periods. Also, the results of my detailing were used in other types of temporary functions such as affordable housing, school, and mobile commercial units. HAMRAZ CONSULTING ENGINEERING COMPANY - Intern Architect 2015 - 2016 I had a one-year internship, designing several executive projects during a 9month training course and had the experience of modeling a 60 seat restaurant as the final project using Revit architecture following BIM design approach. Freelance – Designer, Supervisor 2015 - 2019 I worked as a freelancer for a wide range of projects over my career. Regarding healthcare, I designed a standard plan and interior for a 160 sq m radiography center in KARAJ city in Iran. I also managed all the equipment in the standard position and provided the professional layout and phase 2 detailing and supervised the construction and interior detailing procedure.
OTHER RESEARCH EXPERIENCES IUST – Healthcare Facilities Design Master Student 2015 – 2018
Sarpol-Zahab Post-disaster Field Hospital Assessment
In this evidence-based research, by conducting interviews and a comprehensive survey through the city's field hospital condition, I tried to analyze the functionality of methods that have been used to rebuild the destroyed health infrastructures in SARPOL-ZAHAB city after the 2017 earthquake. Mofid Children Hospital Renovation and Extension We worked as a team of 9 students On behalf of the university to do a comprehensive research about the renovation and extension strategies to double the hospital's 160 beds capacity without using additional ground or destroying any trees in the landscape. I was responsible for managing all the data about the current building, making the source 3D model, and developing the new surgical department.
