5TH ANNIVERSARY

Community Access Partnership Celebration

1

Welcome Mohawk College is grateful to our community for their support, collaboration and unwavering commitment to improving access to education for vulnerable communities. The Community Access Strategy and the City School initiative were forged from key guiding principles of trust, respect, dignity and diversity, established by the community. The collective mission was to create conditions that would enable everyone, regardless of their socio-economic circumstance, to hold hope for their futures and share in the economic, social and cultural opportunities afforded by our city. Our community engagement efforts represented a cornerstone investment in this important work. Mohawk acknowledges that the success of the Access Strategy would not have been possible without the help from friends, colleagues, supporters, and collaborators, who came together to design and launch innovative programming and activities that resulted in tangible benefits for individuals and their families. Mohawk is grateful for the privilege of your partnership.

Getting prepped with foundation programs After high school, many students discover areas of interest only to realize they don’t have the prerequisites or skills to pursue their dreams. Mohawk’s preparatory programs offer students the opportunity to sharpen their skills to meet college admission requirements, and get comfortable learning at the postsecondary level. Mohawk has a number of options for students who have earned an OSSD with senior credits in Workplace Preparation (E) courses. These pathways provide a college experience that build a strong foundation for success, by improving fundamental skills needed to pursue future studies or to enter the workforce.
