INFERENCE 1 . A cold storage provided only 2 % of the total area . it had 2 entry one from the market yard and other and opectional and another entry which was easily accesible but there was no parking provided . also the area provided for cold storage should be increased since it is not sufficient

2. The grain and jaggery market has been provided with an area of about 53% whereas the area of fruit and vegetable market id 35% Whereas it is sufficient and enough in the fruit and vegetable market But the circulation of vehicles in the grain market is congested this is due to the fact the road width of grain market with respect to it's transport vehicles is not sufficient. 3. On the other hand the fruit and vegetable market being provided with less area has a better circulation of the vehicle. Even though there are shops on both the side the trucks and other loading vehicles can pass easily.

There are 3 major types of commodities auctioned in this market. • Vegetable • Fruit • Grain and Jiggery The working schedule of the market is depending upon the: • Type of commodity • Type of market

INFERENCE 1 . The auction timing of vegetables, fruits and grains is more or less overlapping. Due to this a huge mob of public gather in the auction hall at the same time. This creates chaos and confusion . To avoid this separate halls should be provided for different auctions to take place simultaneously. Or else the timing should be such that there should be no overlapping .

INTRODUCTION NAME OF PROJECT: JALGAON APMC MARKET YARD . LOCATION: NH NO 6 . NEAR AJANTA CHOWK . JALGAON YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION : 1933 POPULATION : 48.52 LAKHSTRAFFIC PROBLEM: THE MAIN TRAFFIC PROBLEM OF PUNE ARE ROAD ACCIDENTS AND TRAFFIC JAMS DUE TO INCREASE IN POPULATION.

• Year of construction - 1933. • Parking - As such, no parking facilities are provided. • Facilities provided - fruit and vegetables market, Jaggery market and grain market.

MARKET PLAN •Why is a new site proposed for the APMC marketyard of Jalgaon? -The early APMC market was planned and executed in the year 1933 according to the population and traffic of that time. - Considering present scenario, it cannot house all the needs of the public. - The development of the city has caused traffic problems near the old site. Hence, a new site at the outskirts of the was needed. Positive aspects of the market ▪︎Located near the city. Third ensures easy transportation. ▪︎Situated on the national highway no. 6. This ensures good connectivity from neighboring talukas. Negative aspects of the market ▪︎Development has caused congestion due to traffic in the area of market yard.

• Internal roads -Narrow roads. -Vehicles being parked on one side causes chaos. • Population -It was planned according to the needs of the city in 1933. - But for present scenario, considering population and traffic it is not enough. •Why was that particular site allotted for Jalgaon APMC market yard? -well- connected with neighboring areas through roadways. - not too far from the city.

▪︎Is not enough for the current population of the city. ▪︎No verandah is provided for the fruit sellers. Thus, settlement of vendors on road causes narrowing of the roads. ▪︎Vehicles parked alongside the roads causes inconvenience.

▪︎No recreational space such as cafe or food court is provided. ▪︎Toilets provided are less in number and poorly maintained. ▪︎No special parking ares is provided. Also, no provision is made for loading and unloading of goods.

▪︎No proper maintenance. Due to this shops on the periphery have been rented for commercial uses. ▪︎No enough and proper storage facilities are provided for grain market. ▪︎No provision for cold storage has been made.
