PROFILE Every Parent/Student with Your School App will complete their “Profile�. The profile includes information on the Year they are in the school, subjects taken, club memberships and extra curricular activity groups. This allows the school to engage easily with general or targeted groups, specific sports teams and extra curricular activities.

MESSAGING
Notifications
Send targeted messages directly to selected groups of Parents/Students mobile device. An alert will pop up on their phone to notify them that a message has been received. Unlike traditional text messaging where school messages are muddled with users personal messages and can be accidently deleted all notifications are kept in one location and can only be deleted by the school. As the messaging is a web based system there is no cost or limit to the sending of messages thus eliminating your costly text messaging. You can also use this facility to send hyper links and surveys to Parents/Students.

RSS NEWS FEEDS
The App will automatically publish your Web RSS News to your App, keeping Parents/Students up to date with all school news. Rather than trying to “pull” Parents/ Students to your web site your are “pushing” information right into their hands.
CALENDAR
School is a busy place. It is important that information on all events is centralised into one calendar making it easy for Parents/ Students to check times and dates for school events including Holidays, Parent Teacher meetings, Sporting engagements, Musical shows, Fundraising events and State exams. .

SOCIAL MEDIA While many schools use a variety of Social Media including Twitter, Facebook, Flicker and YouTube a lot of Parents are not subscribed to these platforms and so do not have access to this published information. Your School App brings all these media under one roof and also gives Parents/Students access to the publications without being subscribed to each individual platform.

Each Activity has its own “Notice Board” making it easy for organisers to send information directly to their team or group while keeping Parents fully informed of their children’s extra curricular commitments and obligations.

Successful Day out for Transition Year Students.
TRANSITION YEAR TY is bursting with events, presentations, work experience, activities, trips and new experiences. The dedicated TY module provides your TY Co-ordinator with an ideal medium for keeping Parents/ Students up to date.

SCHOOL INFO
Publish and update all important school information covering the areas of School ethos; code of conduct; message from the principal and other matters - all are fully accessible in the App.
CANTEEN
If your school has a canteen you can post your menus for Parents/Students as and when they change.
SCHOOL SYSTEMS
Your School App can link directly to almost any third party interface including VS Ware, Edmodo and any other third party school systems that may come in the future.
PARENTS ASSOCIATION The PA is a very important part of Parent participation in their children’s schooling. This platform gives the PA a direct link to all parents in the school that would otherwise be impossible to achieve.
SCHOOL CONTACTS Helping parents put a face to the name, to know who is who and how to contact them. 8
BOOK LIST Parents/Students no longer need to traipse around shops to purchase their books. They can order their book list through the App and have them delivered directly to their home. They can also create a simple list of the books they need and print it out/email.
â‚Ź MOBILE PAYMENTS
Parents lead busy lives. An in App payment gates way enables them to make secure payments easily and direct from their mobile phone.
UNIFORMS The dedicated Uniform Module is linked to your appointed uniform supplier and shows all the uniform requirements with a full in-App purchasing facility and direct delivery to their home.

STUDENT RESOURCES PAST PAPERS (LC AND JC) All students must have access to previous years state exam papers. These are very costly for Parents to buy. Your School App will save parents this expense and keeps all exam papers in one easy to access, (impossible to loose!) place. All marking schemes are conveniently displayed underneath the question with a hide/reveal button. But most importantly the papers are presented with full indexation of subjects by topic with links to related questions. Students also have the facility to print/email questions/marking schemes.

REVEAL MARKING SCHEME
REVISION QUIZ Your School App has an easy to use Revision Quiz tool covering five key subjects for the Leaving Certificate (more subject are being rolled out). Each subject is divided into topics with over 500 multi choice questions per subject.
VOCABULARY BANK Literacy is an important issue in schools. Our Vocabulary Bank provided students (and Parents!) with a new word to learn each day. These words are carefully chosen around the curriculum and the stage which the student is at. Each week there is a competition with great prizes which students can enter. The quiz becomes progressively more difficult as more words are added. With a national leader board of all students taking part we expect the competitive spirit and fun engagement to keep students interested, and learning! Students will also be able to add their own words to the bank.
AA LITERACY Your School App is designed and built by an Irish company who have an intimate knowledge of areas of particular interest and focus for Irish Schools. We will continue to develop functionality around the ever changing needs of Irish Schools.

HELP LINES Your School App has a unique feature which puts an easy to use list of all Helplines directly into students hands 24/7. Neither the school nor Parents can be constantly at the Student’s side but they always have their phone. If they need to reach out to someone you will have given them the guidance they need.
HEALTHY EATING The nations health has reached crises point. We all need to do what we can to reverse the trend of inactivity and poor diet. The menus here provide practical, no nonsense suggestions for Parents/Students, empowering them to take action.
ANTI BULLYING Parents/Students are provided with information and guidance on bullying.

GET ACTIVE
A full listing all sports clubs in the local area will encourage Parents/Students to participate in an activity that they enjoy. It is important that Parents set a good example and spend leisure time with their children, engaging in activities together.
COMPETITIONS
Competitions are an exciting way for students to display their talents, to expand their knowledge and grow as people. This comprehensive list of competitions provides Parents/Student/Teachers with information on what competitions are available together with links to websites for entry forms and qualifying criteria.

A motivational message is automatically sent from Your School App to all Parents/ Students every day. We can all use a few words of positive wisdom to lift our spirits - “Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm”.

The Launch It is very important to set a date for the “Launch” of your App. A number of schools have contacted local press and radio to get the word out there on the day. During the day teachers get students to download onto the App onto their mobile phones during class. This is a once off exception to the no mobiles during school time! Quite a number of schools get the TY students to go out to parents who are dropping students off and give them the leaflets and show them how to download and get going.
Your Annual Musical A great way to promote your School App is to run a competition at your annual school Musical (Play, Christmas Concert etc). We will set up a competition within the app and on the evening you invite all the guests to download the app and enter. Then after the event you announce a winner and give them a hamper. Unique Publishing will sponsor the hampers!! 15
