SUMMARY A.

This Section covers color selections of paint and other building finishes which are specified in other Sections. Color is considered of prime importance for all aspects of this Project. Obtain colors for items not specifically noted herein from applicable Sections or the Design Professional. 1. Colors selected are those of the brand specified. Colors of items proposed as substitutes shall be equal to those specified and subject to approval of the Design Professional.

B.

Related Sections include the following: 1. Refer to Division 0, CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS, and Division 1, GENERAL REQUIREMENTS. 2. Materials to be used and installation thereof are specified in other Sections of this Specification.

C.

Alternates: Refer to Section 01 2300, ALTERNATES, for description of Work in this Section affected by alternates.

SUBMITTALS A.

Shop Drawings: Show fabrication and installation details.

B.

Shop Drawings: Prepared by or under the supervision of a qualified professional engineer detailing fabrication and assembly, as well as procedures and diagrams.

Shop Drawings: Include plans, elevations, sections, details, and attachments to other Work. 1. For installed products indicated to comply with design loads, include structural analysis data signed and sealed by the qualified professional engineer responsible for their preparation.

Legend is for material location and color assignment only: 1. Use in conjunction with the drawings and specifications. 2. Bring any apparent error, inconsistency, or omission to the attention of the Design Professional before proceeding.

Aesthetics are a very important part of this project. 1. Any proposed change impacting appearance require submittal of a substitution request. a. Substitution form: See Specification Section 00 6000.

Samples / Submittals. 1. In accordance with construction documents, provide three samples of each color and material as required for approval. 2. Label and identify each as to location and application. 3. Resubmit samples as requested by Design Professional until acceptable sheen, color, and texture is achieved. 4. On actual wood surfaces, provide three 4 inch x 8 inch samples of natural and stained wood finishes. 5. Shop Drawings as required by related specifications.

If required for consistency, provide materials from same production run.

Where items or surface are not specifically mentioned, bring to attention of Design Professional. Unless otherwise indicated, do not include painting when factory-finishing or installerfinishing is specified for such items as, but not limited to: metal toilet Enclosures, prefinished partition systems, acoustic materials, architectural woodwork and casework, stainless steel elevator entrance doors and frames, light fixtures, switchgear and distribution cabinets. Unless otherwise indicated, metal surfaces of anodized aluminum, stainless steel, chromium plated, copper, bronze and similar finished materials will not require finish painting.

Flooring. 1. Provide moisture mitigation for concrete with applied flooring, see Specification Section 03 3000. 2. Where control joints pass behind rubber, resilient vinyl, wood or other wall base; caulk control joint using a color-match caulk prior to installing base.

F.

Architectural Casework. 1. Casework finishes including plastic laminate colors shall be verified on approved casework shop drawings. 2. Millwork finishes as indicated on drawings. 3. Countertop and backsplash finishes as indicated on drawings. 4. All plastic laminate casework to have 3mm edge-banding, color shall match plastic laminate and be submitted for approval by Design Professional. 5. All semi-exposed surfaces shall be cleanable melamine surface. No exposed MDF is allowed under countertops, in drawers, etc.

G.

Typical Interior Finishes. 1. See IN-Sheets for exact floor finishes, locations of paint accent(s), ceramic & porcelain tile, and specialty finishes. a. Align finishes if they appear to align with an outside wall corner, casework or other built components. b. Not all ‘aligned’ finishes are noted. 2. Resilient wall base profiles as indicated below: 1) CPT flooring: 4” RB-1 toe-less. 2) CFS-ND flooring: 4” RB-1 with toe. 3) LVT flooring: 4” RB-1 with toe. 4) SV flooring: 4” RB with toe. a) SV flooring: 4” integral cove base as noted on IN-sheets/Room Finish Schedule.
