Too much hardship and too much pain Brought on an unwanted maturity Which, backfiring, threw me back into the world of a regressing mind. Gone are the naivete and trust Of the child But forcefully brought back

In the middle-aged teenager, Is the will to mistrust and believe

What you know to be wrong. Disregarding the throes of womanhood, The maturity of body and mind And instead clutching Baby memories. Finding excuses for being a child At heart, in mind and on act. But still as the throes of womanhood unfurl, I’ll sit here and scream ‘I want to be a little girl!’
