NOTE FROM THE DEAN
A signature achievement is our annual Future Global Leaders awards. I am delighted to announce that the 2023 recipients are Sharar Kader (undergraduate) and Riya Maben (postgraduate).
Both students reflect not just the Monash motto of Ancora Imparo (“I am still learning”), but also have a demonstrated commitment to the challenges of the age identified by Monash University, including tackling climate change and helping to develop thriving communities.
Sharar is a Bachelor of Commerce Honours student specialising in Economics, whose desire to tackle poverty and protect threatened ecosystems transformed into an Honours thesis and may lead to a pilot program in Cambodia offering compensation for income loss linked to a lack of rainfall.
Riya, a Masters of Banking and Finance graduate, applied skills learned in her postgraduate studies to help non-government organisations caring for stray animals. Currently working in superannuation, Riya is passionate about making positive changes as a female professional.
You can read more about them in this program.
Also in this program are our 2023 Student Course recipients –look for your name there if you are a recipient – as well as our individual Department Unit Awards and the Dean’s Honour List and Commendation List.
As a Monash University student, you can be reassured that the education you receive is among the world’s best: in 2023 Monash University was ranked 44th in the world by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University rankings.
Being a Monash Business School graduate means your studies will be recognised for its quality around the world, with the depth and knowledge to really make a difference.
That will always be our commitment to you.
Professor Simon Wilkie Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics Head, Monash Business School
