Residential Tower

Mexico City, Mexico

When Bernardi&Peschard Arquitectos and Luz en Arquitectura, collaborated to design a high-end tower development in the Bosque de Chapultepec, Mexico City, they wanted to have a statement lighting fixture that embraced the ambience and sophistication of their lobby design and the lifestyle of their future residents. The local architects chose Lumifer's Helix pendant and, together with Lumifer’s design team, created a composition cluster of lighting that evokes a timeless design fully integrated into the lobby interior’s palette of rich and luxurious finishes. Designed as a system of T-shaped, hand finished solid brass modules, the Helix design language combines soft-rounded edges with a rigid axial brass framing. Each component is assembled individually, giving the fixture full flexibility into innumerous configurations. Each light point gracefully transitions to a uniquely designed rosette to house the handblown glass globe in a variety of colours and textures. Each cascading “T” module forms a subtle helix rotation; creating a mesmerising cylindrical aura that touches on the origin of the natural world. The result is a delicate, simple, and versatile light, with seamless and precise details, resembling vintage 1960s Italian lights with a contemporary and industrial aesthetic that characterises the revival of luxury contemporary American design. www.lumifer.us Image: Ruben Dario
