MEDIAPRO INTERNATIONAL’S JINESH NAIR
MEDIAPRO INTERNATIONAL’S DIRECTOR TAKES A LOOK BACK AT THIS PAST SEASON AND WHAT IT MEANT FOR BOTH HIS COMPANY AND THE WIDER MIDDLE EAST EVENTS MARKET.
As we gear up for the approaching summer months, which are generally slow for the market, we’re using this time for extensive in-house training, overall maintenance and stock take. As we prepare for the promising new season, I can’t help but reminiscence about how successful 2018 has proven for MediaPro International.
Over the years, we have built up a reputation for our client-centered approach to delivering defined events. With an extensive state-of-the-art inventory and offices outside the UAE in Singapore, India, KSA and Qatar, the company has cemented its status as a consistently reliable technical production company which is well placed to provide AV solutions at all stages. MediaPro International constantly evaluate trends in the market and we procure new AV solutions at a high cost. Our constant training keeps on par with an ever-growing demand among clients for show-stopping event technology. But MediaPro International also looks for innovative solutions to push past the boundaries of what has been done before and create memorable events. UAE is place to showcase new technology and we are happy to be in this city.
This season we were awarded several high profile corporate events and concerts like RedFestDXB, Jazz Fest, The Assembly: A Global Teacher Prize Concert, Arab Media Forum, Oracle OpenWorld Middle East and Dubai’s recently concluded Arabic alternative music festival, Wasla Music Festival, to name a few. As a team, we believe our diversity is our strength. We approach every challenge head on and achieve something so unique each time, which has resulted in MediaPro International becoming one of the main choices for demanding and technologically challenging events.
At GITEX last year, we knew we had to do something so distinctive it would amaze the exhibitors – hence, we designed the Etisalat stand with our Whalberg Motion Design winches, multiple pitch LED screens and LED panels on the floor, which resulted in a huge success for our clients and us.
After all, it’s clients who motivate us to do something out of the box for every event, regardless of the scale. Saudi Arabia has opened a new market for the live events industry. We have seen an influx of substantial high profiles events in recent months. As we are fully operational in the Kingdom with a huge warehouse and crew, we are able to handle a series of concerts for Rotana, Bollywood Music Festival, as well as Formula E. We were also the technical supplier for the Winter at Tantora Festival in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia where we catered for multiple concerts, from Lang Lang to Andrea Bocelli, and many corporate conferences for various companies.
It is a new market and, as social media is quick to host any and all happenings from around the world, we are asked for new technology from the word go. International live bands require

an extensive backline and it’s not an excuse to say it will not work because the region is new or we‘don’t have the required kit.
New audio line array systems and mixing consoles were the first items on our shopping list. New light models soon followed with a whole new LED screen kit.
It has been a good move to invest several million dollars in equipment to set up the Saudi office. With the current market being so saturated in terms of pricing we have managed to emerge as one of the market leaders in the live technical events rental industry. In order to achieve such outstanding deliveries, we believe proper care and maintenance of our equipment is key. We invest
keenly in the latest technology which usually fills the gap in the demand for unique and challenging events. Recently, we doubled our stock of video from LED to media servers – such as disguise – not to mention automated kinetic walls and winches including Kinesys motors. We’ve also recently invested in lighting fixtures from Robe Spiiders and Mega Pointe to SGM Q7s and P10s. Our audio supply has also been replenished with L-Acoustic K1s and K2s, 2 DiGiCo SD7 Quantums and a DiGiCo SD5 and much more in the last year which has resulted in winning demanding tenders. We also invested heavily in SFX equipment from Magic FX last year to minimise the cost on shows which resulted in the need for a bigger warehouse space.
We moved into our new 150,000+ sqft facility in Dubai Investment Park 1 with the ever-increasing equipment stock. Funamentally, we needed a facility which brings all the departments under one roof to ensure smooth daily operations. We have always been committed to the growth of our industry by developing innovative ways for our clients to convert their most imaginative concepts into reality and raise the bar in the use of event technology and creativity even further! I am grateful to our clients and proud of the team for their ability to deliver great results with consistency. Photos: MediaPro www.mediapro-av.com
