PARTNERSHIP PRESENTATION
/ WELCOME Since the inauguration of Reading, Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festivals’ earliest incarnations, the UK has maintained its status as the epicentre of the international festival industry. Despite its relatively small size and temperamental weather, the nation now boasts a myriad of events that have – for many – become synonymous with the summertime. The UK Festival Awards and Conference comprises a day and night of reflection and revelry – both an incisive deconstruction and illustrious celebration of the most vibrant and historic festival scene in the world. With a set of attendees as eclectic as they are respected, the UK Festival Awards and Conference is widely considered to be the premier event for the exchange of ideas and recognition of the industry’s collective achievements. Festival Insights is the Festival Awards’ official media partner, and helps to raise the UKFA’s industry profile through its comprehensive pre and post-event coverage. The subscriber base of the online trade publication includes approximately 4000 of the international festival industry’s organisers, essential staff and suppliers, ensuring that word of the Festival Awards’ latest developments reaches a highly relevant and engaged audience.
/ CONFERENCE & AWARDS The UK Festival Conference runs throughout the day, involving numerous panel sessions whose aim is to discuss issues pertinent to festivals. Participants in these talks include some of the industry’s most innovative and experienced insiders. Focus areas from 2015 included the viability of various cashless systems, an evaluated of newly introduced CDM regulations, ideas for more intelligent programming, the current state of festival welfare, and sustainability. Following a drinks reception and sit-down dinner, the Awards begin. The 22 accolades are presented in succession to the winners – some decided by public vote and others by a select committee – amidst an atmosphere of excitement and maybe a little amicable rivalry.
