Foreword from our CEO

Welcome to the 2022 Christmas Lunch. I’m really pleased that so many of us have been able to come together today to reflect on the great work you all do and the resilience you continue to show.

It has been another tumultuous year. From historically high energy prices to changing political circumstances, UKHospitality has been your voice at the highest levels of Government and we continue to work tirelessly on your behalf.

As UKHospitality approaches its 5th birthday, my team and I are incredibly proud that the importance of our sector is recognised across Government and it’s the united voice UKHospitality provides that has achieved significant interventions from the Government, particularly in the form of energy support.

I know the challenges we face are at the forefront of everyone’s mind but it’s important we continue to also emphasise what more the sector can offer. Once we weather the storm, there are opportunities out there we can grasp to deliver economic growth, unlock investment and create jobs for the nation.

The skills and workforce agenda remains critical for our sector and we’re continuing to make significant headway on skills

development and educational pathways, which will be crucial for our businesses and delivering social mobility.

UKHospitality is here to continue to make those arguments and represent your interests now, and in the years ahead.
