Makeover Your IG - 3 Tips and Tricks to Pimp Your Profile Today Social media - many people pretend that they don’t love their social media accounts as much as their newborn baby. But the truth is, it permeates every aspect of our lives. Now, you may be the ONE person who is anti-social media, and shirking at the idea of promoting across multiple platforms for your business. But you’d be doing yourself a huge disservice if you don’t utilize at least one social media platform. And the Mac Daddy of all daddies’ for social media is Instagram. It’s free, easy to use and is projected to grow 15.1 percent this year alone. It’s a business owner’s goldmine! If you’re struggling to get your account off the ground, here’s some tips and tricks to get you started. Add 30 Hashtags to EVERY post Yes, 30. “But I don’t want to look desperate.” Who cares? This is business. The most successful accounts are the ones who know how to get the maximum use of their hashtags. You are allotted 30. Use all of them. Research the ones that are best for your industry. Don’t use hashtags that are overused, i.e., in the millions, because your post will instantly get buried amongst the other millions of instagrammers who are posting. But you also don’t’ want to use a hashtag that no one is searching for. Somewhere in the 100,000-700,000 range is a good start. If you want your post to look nice and clean, put your hashtags in the first comment of your post, instead of the actual post itself. Like a Ton of Photos Instagram is all about engagement. How else will people know you exist, unless you go out into the community and interact with your fellow IG peeps? Do a research on your industry hashtags, and go through and like as many photos as you can. If you can get at least 1000 likes in, in one day (very doable btw), you’re guaranteed to get at least 5-20 followers a day, depending on how you work it. Now if this all seems too daunting a task for you, you can utilize an automated liking service like Instagress, Archie or Mass Planner. They will go through and like photos all day for you, without you having to lift a finger. They can also follow/unfollow for you as well. The people, who have thousands of followers and you haven’t a clue what they do, are likely utilizing these services. Trust us. Make it Look Pretty Humans, by nature, are very visual creatures. If you have a personal page, feel free to post whatever you like, so long as it’s visually appealing. If you’ve got selfies, then you MUST edit them before you post. FaceTune (paid) and VSCO Cam (free) are your best friends. Many of your IG influencers, makeup artists, and “models” are all utilizing these features…wait, you didn’t think they were naturally gorgeous did you? You also want to make sure your theme is consistent, particularly if it’s a business page. Google “IG themes” to get an idea of what other people are doing in
your industry. You can theme by content, colors, design or all three. Just make it look good. Many people have seen their businesses grow leaps and bounds from creating an instagram account.
