MODULAR FURNITURE DESIGN
DESIGN BRIEF To design a modular kitchen island unit used occasionally in a space like a farmhouse keeping in mind the general usage of kitchen unit, the user profile and the frequency of usage.
• Kitchen cabinets • Kitchen appliances • Cooking range • Chimney • Kitchen counter tops • Sink
Ideation The idea was to design a kitchen which would be accessible from both the sides. As it is a kitchen to be used in farm house , the central unit would be fixed and the side units could be arranged according to the need of the user. • accessible from both the sides • interesting forms can be created according to the need • since it’s a farm house kitchen the user would generally get the required items with them and would take them back once their stay is over hence the open shelves has been provided.
