As part of the HyNet North West project, we will build:
→ Low -carbon hydrogen production plants
→ A hydrogen pipeline network and salt caverns in which hydrogen can be stored ready for use
→ Facilities to capture CO2 emissions
→ Underground pipelines to transport CO2 emissions to permanent safe storage

HyNet: How to pay for BECCS?
Industrial Carbon Capture (ICC) business model (revenue support from HMG): → Uncompetitive against larger industrials (<£100/t) → AD specifically excluded
Greenhouse Gas Removals (GGR) business model (revenue support from HMG): → Designed to allocate value to negative emissions
→ Very nascent – not investable in near term
Voluntary Offset Market (private sector funded):
Third party trading platforms / aggregators → Individual bilateral contracts (airlines etc)
