Welcome to Master Angus Annual Sale! Vinee’ and I welcome you to our sale. For over 26 years we have been working on putting together moderate, maternal, low input cows for our herd. We are proud and enjoy very much being in the Angus business and providing you good Black Angus seed stock. Our bulls were fed at Hould’s Feedlot in Malta again this year. They gained an average of 3.68 lbs per day, with back fat at .34. We are very pleased with the results. Thank you, Bruce, Linda and your crew for doing an excellent job of feeding and caring for our bulls again this year. The demand for Angus steers and heifers just keeps getting better. The sale of Angus bulls this spring has been solid. Not only for the feeder calves these bulls produce, also for the great Angus females they will put in your herd. The Angus cow is the most trouble free and low input cows used on the grasslands of America. We have sons out of our herd sire GDAR Approval 9328 again this year. Approval calves are moderate sized, thick, well muscled and easy fleshing. They again are our highest IMF ratioing bulls in the sale! We have calved out many of his daughters and they are docile, good milking, good uddered, easy keeping, and very eye appealing cows. This will be some of our best AAR Bennett 1543 sons to sell. Bennett was very docile and his calves are too. They show lots of rib, volume, muscle and are moderate in size. Bennett sons will put performance in the steers and heifers you send to the feedlots. His daughters are very easy to work with and have good udders and plenty of milk. McCumber Mason 352 sired bulls in this sale are all out of first calf heifers. They show a lot of muscle, they are our highest rib eye ratioing sire group and gained very well on test. Another real asset of Mason is his daughters! They are moderate in size, very docile and great mothers. The udder quality is very good. I feel you will be very pleased with the cattle these Mason sons will produce for you. The McCumber Sequence 4262 sons really performed well on our feed test and carcass evaluation. They had the second highest IMF ratios of all our herd sires. The Sequence bulls in this sale have a real eye appealing style and should produce some great feeder cattle and some mother cows that you will be proud to own. As we move forward with our cow herd we have chosen sons of Resource, Renown, Fortunate Son, and Cole Creek Black Cedar. We stayed with maternal sires of the Angus breed, knowing that the Angus mother cow will keep us in the cattle business. Please feel free to evaluate the bulls any time prior to the sale at the Hould feedlot south of Malta, MT, then on March 28th at the Bear Paw Livestock Commission in Chinook, MT. Vinee’ and I would like to thank you for your past support and future business. We are extremely grateful for your friendship. If you have any questions, or if we can be of any service, please call us as we would enjoy visiting with you.
See you at the sale,
Gene and Vinee’ Page 2
