GAME PREVIEW
GRIZ GAME DAY PREVIEW After a week off to refresh the bodies and renew the focus, Montana football returns to action Saturday as Griz Nation gathers for Homecoming when Cal Poly visits Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Sitting at 2-0 with mountains of momentum, the No. 4 Grizzlies open Big Sky Conference play against the Mustangs, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25. Montana returns to the field after starting the season with a massive upset over the No. 20 Washington Huskies followed by a 42-7 near shutout of Western Illinois for one of just two Big Sky wins over Missouri Valley teams. Cal Poly (1-2) comes to Missoula with a new head coach and a new identity in 2021, a coach Griz fans know well and has seen plenty of success against Montana. After a stint as the offensive coordinator at the University of California, former Eastern Washington head coach Beau Baldwin is now in his first season as the Cal Poly mentor. Baldwin took the Mustang reins from Tim Walsh, and at the same time shifted the program from a run-based triple-option team to a signature Baldwin air attack offense. While picked to finish at the bottom of the Big Sky table this season, Cal Poly has played spoiler in Missoula before. Last time the Mustangs came to town, the Griz were riding high having just defeated No. 1 NDSU to open the 2015 season. They left with a 20-19 upset thanks to a last-second, 49-yard field goal. But this year the Grizzlies are roaring a little different. Montana takes the field Saturday with a defense that hasn’t allowed more than a single touchdown in four games and hasn’t allowed a single point in 115 minutes of game time, shutting out opposing offenses for seven straight quarters. Led by senior QB Cam Humphrey, the Grizzly offense is clicking as well. Humphrey threw five touchdown passes against Western Illinois, guiding a unit that has split its 750 yards of total offense relatively evenly on the ground and in the air.

LISTEN MONTANA RIDING MOMENTUM THROUGH BYE WEEK
In the leadup to Montana’s home-opener win over Western Illinois last week, head coach Bobby Hauck told his team that many of them hadn’t yet experienced the full power of a capacity crowd in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Sure, there had been big crowds, but many of them had never felt the “Mecca of FCS Football” with 25,000-plus at max volume, with the north end zone imposing their will on visiting offenses, and the student section turned up to 11.

Direct Source was founded in 2008 by Rich Sargent who saw a need in the Missoula area for a full-service kitchen and bath company. We have worked hard to build relationships with builders, remodelers and homeowners from the Flathead to the Bitterroot and from Superior to Drummond. Our projects range from Montana Mountain Homestead to Missoula Modern. No project is too big or too small. With over 80 years of cabinet and design experience among them, our designers are prepared to walk you through every step of your residential or commercial project. Each project is different, and our goal is to provide you with cabinets that best fit your lifestyle. Consider a one -on-one consultation where we design with your wants, needs and budget in mind. In addition to our design services, recommendations for countertops, hardware, sinks and faucets are available. No detail is overlooked. Designers work closely together with a design; making revisions along the way until completion. We also come to the site of your project to verify measurements before your order is finalized. Once your order is placed, our designers will continue to assist you by coordinating delivery and installation as needed. 3495 West Broadway, Missoula, MT 59808 directsourcemt.com | 406-728-8099

Our brightest days are ahead of us. Community. It’s the company you keep. The people with whom you share something in common. Who share your sense of place. And this … this is our place. There’s a unique energy in this community. That stadium lights a sense of pride. And it’s powered by what we do for each other, now and in the future.
