WHO’S BEEN SNOOPED?
Keep Your Cars Like New! Well today was just another beautiful day in paradise with the temperature reaching 90 degrees with that wonderful afternoon Delta breeze. Almost all the corn has made its way to the grocers and the bell peppers are gleaming in the sun waiting for the final pick. With Labor Day weekend ending yesterday and the last of the college kids ready to go off to school, it is a great time to look in on a local business that is going to help you with that check list you have been making all summer. Keep it New Auto is located right here in Brentwood off Harvest Park Drive and was truly a delight to snoop. First off, I am one of those girls who absolutely loves to spend time in the garage watching my husband work on all our toys, so finding a local mechanic whose garage is as clean as ours was amazing. Owner, Linn Small is a delight! He chose to open his business after spending 10 years in

Most of the time, I try to give our readers my bird’s eye view of the businesses I snoop, but I am going to make an exception. Our integrity is worth more than the dollar.” OK, another 10 points as I couldn’t have said it any better myself.
So now to your list. Most of you, at the very least need an oil change, so please make the effort to go check out this place. Here is to good part, he can work on the rest of your car including things like window regulators, interior trim, all fluid service, AC service, and even fix the radio. Obviously his business name, Keep It New Auto, was the right choice. He even has a service package for 30, 60 or 90K using original equipment parts if you choose. OK, ten extra points for that. I think I liked the customer service best, from the way they answer the phone to the wonderful in person greeting you get as soon as you walk in the door. They always have specials and the one I liked best was the “Get To Know Us” which includes oil change & filter, free tire rotation and brake lining check for $23.95 (with the coupon in our wonderful magazine and for first time customers).

Caring For The Aging Patient With Dental Problems The mouth is the first line of digestion and properly chewing food is a key practice in maintaining one’s overall health. If mastication(chewing) is minimized due to pain and or/loss of teeth, patient’s nutritional necessities will be affected. This often leads to health conditions that are treated by prescribed medications, but these medicines can lead to other oral complications. Aging patients face increased health challenges associated with calcium deficiencies which cause the bones to weaken and sometimes bone around the teeth deteriorate and result in loose teeth. Other problems older patients face is dry mouth, decay around existing crowns or fillings, gum disease and tooth pain. The one fact almost every facet of oral health worth investigating in regards to senior patients is saliva. The average
adult produces over a quart and a half of saliva a day. As we all know saliva helps in digestion and also in elimination of the food debris around teeth. Nine out of ten individuals older than 65 take some kind of medication including those that treat hypertension, cancer, anxiety and allergies which cause dry mouth. Some medical conditions also cause dry mouth like anemia, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and autoimmune disease. Patients with uncontrolled diabetes may result in increased periodontal disease. Osteoporosis may result in loss of bone in the upper and lower jaw resulting in tooth loss or ill-fitting dentures. Chemotherapy can destroy the salivary glands resulting in dramatically reduced quality of life. As a dentist my ultimate goal is to help our patients maintain a healthy dentition and I cannot stress how much it is important to reinforce daily home care and proper brushing techniques to effectively clean the teeth, gums and tongue. Regular dental visits to catch problems early make it easier to treat. Consider fluoride rinses and occlusal guards to prevent further damage to teeth.

Life Insurance Many young parents tend to think that they don’t need life insurance because they are young, healthy and are not going to die anytime soon. Yes, we hope that is true. But if the worst happens, will your children be ok? Can they live without your salary? Will your family be able to pay the rent or mortgage payments? Will there be enough money to hire a babysitter to

Leaving a Loving Legacy: Getting Started Today, two-thirds of women identify themselves as the primary decision-maker in their home. Many of these women are also the breadwinner, earning 62% of the household income. There is no right answer, but this estate plan will help your family carry out your wishes when you are gone. Creating an estate plan can be daunting. It is tough to think about death.
