On April 4, North Shelby had 5 teams compete at the district contest. The teams competing were Agronomy, Farm Management, Floriculture, Forestry, and Soils. Agronomy, Farm Management, Forestry, and Soils all moved on from districts and will compete at the State level!

April Chapter Meeting
April 11, 2022
On April 11, North Shelby FFA members gathered for a short meeting. After the meeting members participated in a game of kickball or hung out on the Elementary playground.
State Convention
April 21-22, 2022
There were many highlights from State Convention this year! North Shelby had nine different teams competing at the State Level this year, a member gave her statewinning speech on stage, and a member qualified for a State Proficiency and Star!
Dylan McEwen qualified at the State level for a Proficiency in Agricultural Processing and a Star in Agribusiness!
Ava Williams was able to give her State winning speech in the category of Teach Ag! Parliamentary Procedure

On May 18, North Shelby FFA members held an Ag Day for elementary students. Grades Pre-K6 had the opportunity to learn about different things in agriculture such as animals, crops, and equipment.

FFA members with the most amount of points went on the endof-year points trip. Members enjoyed tours of Bradford Farms, Mizzou Campus, and a Tree Farm. After the tours, the members played mini golf and drove go-carts

FFA members went to the Shelbina pool for a pool party after the July Meeting. Members enjoyed swimming, playing volleyball and basketball, and climbing the rock wall!
Hype Academy

Ava Williams and Mary Schwanke were selected to attend the 2022 Missouri FFA Hype Academy on June 28-30.
Throughout this Academy, Mary and Ava got to learn from guest speakers and legislators, tour the Capitol building, and learn about current agricultural issues.
Mary and Ava also had the opportunity to meet FFA members throughout Missouri and meet some of the current State Officers!

Area 3 Battle Of The Chapters
August 4, 2022
On August 4, North Shelby FFA members went to Long Branch Lake for Area 3 Battle of the Chapters. Chapters from Area 3 gathered to participate in beach activities. These activities included volleyball, sandcastle building, and tug-of-war.

Following the meeting, the members participated in a game of capture the flag with a twist. The members got to use water guns against their opponents.

Greenley MU Field Day
September 13, 2022
On September 13, 2022, the Sophmore Class, the Agronomy Team, and Ava Williams went to MU's Greenley Farm for their Field Day. This group of students got to learn about many different fields of agriculture.
September Meeting and Trash Pickup

On September 13, North Shelby FFA members held a trash pick-up and meeting. Members pick up trash along side Hwy 15.
Following the trash pickup, there was a short meeting. After the meeting members enjoyed a meal and played a game of wiffle ball.
Area 3 Leadership Conference

On September 14, 2022, North Shelby FFA members attended Area 3 Leadership Conference. At this conference, members participated in the Area 3 meeting and got to hear from guest speakers including National Officer Mallory White!

Freshmen learned about upcoming events for the year, activities members get to participate in, and about Official Dress.
On September 22, Freshmen and other members gathered for North Shelby FFA Open House!
After the informational portion, the Freshmen got fitted for their jackets and enjoyed a meal of burgers and fries.

North Shelby FFA brought 12 FFA members and three contest teams to the 95th National FFA Convention this year. Members got to explore the Career Expo, go to General Sessions and Leadership Workshops, go on agricultural tours, and go to a rodeo.

On November 10, North Shelby FFA had four members compete at the Area Level for Fall Speaking!
Trinity Dreckshage and Alexa Mesmer also did well at the Area Level! Alexa placed 3rd and will be the alternate for Districts.
Ava Williams and Mary Schwanke placed first with their speeches and will compete at the District Level!
Ava's Speech was about Ag Advocacy and Mary's was about Soil and Water.

On November 12, North Shelby FFA members gathered for the Barnwarming Dance! Before the dance, Members gathered around the bonfire for a short meeting and roasted hotdogs.
Members then participated in a scavenger hunt and enjoyed the Barnwarming Dance!

November 15, 2022
On November 15, Ava Williams competed at the District Level for Fall Speaking. Ava placed 1st and will compete at the State Level in February.

Members got to participate in a White Elephant gift exchange and played a game of four-corner kickball!

On February 21, North Shelby FFA members arrived at school early to make cherry turnovers for the teachers and staff in celebration of FFA Week Members participated in this activity to show their appreciation for our teachers!

In celebration of FFA Week, on February 22, North Shelby FFA held their Supporter's Breakfast for the community!
Members arrived to school early to prepare the meal of pancakes, hash browns, sausage, and eggs. They then served it to the supporters as they arrived.

For the final day of FFA Week, members that were in official dress got to eat in the member lunch. The lunch of burger and fries was prepared by some of the members.

On February 24, Greenhand members were initiated in celebration of FFA Week. All Greenhands dipped their hands into green paint to officially become Greenhands!
