Marguerita Bakery on Clark street in Montreal has existed since 1910 and was original opened by Francis Assise Alary from Ste-Anne-Des-Plaines. In the early 1940’s, an Italian immigrant by the name of Tommaso Riganese purchased the bakery and named it

Marguerita. Twenty years later or so, Antonio Petrella, father of Peter Petrella became a shareholder. In 2003, owner Peter Petrella bought the bakery and continued his dad’s legacy. Marguerita is known for its specialty bread and pizza. Their bread recipe is the same it was over fifty

years ago and nothing on that end has changed. “We don’t use any chemical additives in our products,” explains Anne-Marie Petrella, marketing and business coordinator.

Their infamous thickcrust bread is sold in many grocery stores across the city and served in multiple restaurants. You can find their products at Inter Marche, Esposito,

Adonis, Milano, Berchicci, Euromarché and in others. Antonio Petrella insists on promoting quality ingredients with an oldschool baking process all

while providing great service to their clients. Their opening hours are Monday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday to Friday 7 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 7:00 to 3:00 p.m.
