SATURDAY 27TH MAY MEET LEGO MASTERS’ STAR AT SILVERSTONE MUSEUM

For a family fun-fuelled day out, head to the Silverstone Museum this May half term. Go and meet Fran Scott, star of TV’s LEGO Masters, who will be visiting the museum on Saturday 27th May to talk about her exciting new book How to Build a Racing Car. Families can also enjoy the kids trail at the museum, where you can pay for a day and visit for free for a year by gift aiding your ticket! See incredible iconic cars, enjoy pit lane activities and experience over 60 hands-on exhibits. There’s so much to see and do including operating a wind tunnel, piloting a Wellington bomber, taking part in a pit stop, racing on the new Scalextric Silverstone circuit track and climbing into a replica Grand Prix car! SELECTED DATES IN JUNE IT’S TIME FOR THE TOTS TAKEOVER!

Get your toddlers out of the house and have fun outdoors! Head off to Wicksteed Park for a day and explore all the treats it has to offer! On selected afternoons throughout June, you can toddle around the park and visit not only the Adventure Zone, but the Heritage Zone as well. Get ready to fly around in the minijets, visit the Meerkats in their manor and watch the fabulous Wicky Bear Theatre Show with lots of singing, dancing and fun! Rides open will be the Adventure Zone & Heritage Zone which includes the Wicksteed Railway Train ride. Dates include the 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th of June. The Knights of Nottingham return to Rockingham for their annual Joust on Sunday 18th June. Knights and horses combine for a hard-hitting and fun Medieval Jousting display on the Tilting Lawn. Go and enjoy the living history village and Jester display! They are also thrilled to announce the return of Teddy Bear’s Picnic this year with the addition of more dates! SATURDAY 1ST & SUNDAY 2ND JULY GET READY FOR A PARTY WEEKEND WITH WELLINGBOROUGH CARNIVAL AND PARTY IN THE PARK!

Wellingborough Town Council are pleased to announce that the Carnival and Party in the Park is returning to Croyland Park, Wellingborough! It will be a fun-packed weekend of live music from local bands Grand Quatro and New Harmony, singer Luke White and Taylor Swift and Prince tribute acts, entertainment from GLJ Theatre and Carnival Duo. The Carnival will parade through the town on Saturday departing from Broad Green and arriving at the park where there will be a variety of stalls, Stevens fun fair and lots more to keep the whole family entertained.

SUNDAY 9TH JULY CELEBRATING YOUNG MUSICIANS AT THE SUMMER FESTIVAL OF MUSIC: NEW AND SECOND-GENERATION CONCERTS

Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust will celebrate the achievements of its County Ensembles at the Summer Festival of Music: New and Second-Generation Concerts, on Sunday 9th July at 12noon and 6pm. The concerts feature NMPAT’s junior and training ensembles, providing children and young people with the opportunity to take centre stage at Northampton’s Derngate. Each performance will feature a county orchestra, brass band, wind orchestra, jazz group and a choir or string orchestra. Northamptonshire has always had a proud reputation for the quality of its top youth music ensembles, which are widely recognised as amongst the best in the country - here they celebrate the aspiring New and Second Generations!

Have Fun At Delapre Abbey This May

Enjoy the May half term at Delapré Abbey in Northampton with an array of exciting activities, for all ages, taking place throughout the week (Sunday 28th May-Sunday 4th June). On Sunday 28th May, take part in ‘Book of the Moon’ craft activities under artist Luke Jerram’s scale model of the Moon. Preacher the Storyteller will be in the Abbey’s Library on Wednesday 31st May inviting you and your children into a world of imagination with stories about gardens. Find out more about the 1460 Battle of Northampton on Sunday 4th June with a family walk and demonstrations with armour, arrow fletching and more! Interact, learn, and play with 900 years of turbulent history inside the house on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and bank holiday Mondays.

Half Term Fun On The Farm

Visit West Lodge Farm this half term where there will be live sheep shearing demonstrations throughout the day, taking place from 27th May-4th June! Children and adults of all ages can have hand on experiences at this award-winning farm park, and as well as the sheep shearing displays there will be all the usual fun too: free barrel rides, small animal petting, sheep racing, pig racing, den building, plus both indoor and outdoor adventure play areas. Extras are also available including pony rides, tractor rides and a 9-hole adventure golf course.

Over the bank holiday weekend (27th-29th May) West Lodge also have Viking Shows and Wool Spinning. It really will be a great day out for all the family!
