Newsletter MOON VILLAGE ASSOCIATION President Highlights
“The Moon Village Association is becoming well known in the world. We have presented the Association in many international events such as COPUOS technical subcommittee last February, the ISEF2-I in Tokyo in March as well as the IAF spring meetings. The first video of the Association was launched on 28 march and was well received. During the first meeting of the Advisory Council we received a strong support and usefull suggestions The members are joining the Association steadily; we are more than 170 individuals from 34 countries and 7 institutional. The main products of the Association like the Working Group, the Global Network and the Moon Market are advancing in the definition. In particular, the majority of the WGs will be up and running by end April. You can follow the development on our website and twitters. Moon Village Association News The Moon Village Association notable presence at the 2nd International Space Exploration Forum (ISEF2) in Tokyo, Japan On Friday, March 2nd 2018, the Moon Village Association (MVA) presented its plans to the Industry Day of the second International Space Exploration Forum (ISEF2), organized by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). The MVA, the only independent international, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) invited by JAXA to participate in the ISEF2 industry day side-event, spoke during a panel addressing “Prospects of Space Exploration & Other Industries”. The MVA also participated on March 4th at the University of Tokyo in a major International workshop on “Space Law and Policy Strategies for Building Moon Bases and Exploiting Space Natural Resources”. ISEF2 was a gathering of high-level representatives from many governments (Japan, the USA, European Countries, Canada, and others) to discuss how space exploration can expand the horizons of humanity and challenge all of us to gain and share the knowledge, experiences and benefits as common assets for all humankind. About 400 participants from the private sector, including individuals from space and other industries, investment agencies and entrepreneurs were present at the ISEF2 Industry day.
The Moon Village Association contribution to the Moon Settlement during the IAF Spring Meetings in Paris On Mach 28 2018, the Moon Village Association (MVA) presented its contribution to a future Moon settlment at the GNF Morning sessions and its General Meeting held during the IAF Spring Meetings in Paris. The Moon Village Association emphasized that by becoming a member there is access to following three main pillars: Global Network, Working Groups, and Moon Market. Pillar I: Global Network The Global Network is a federation of different stakeholders worldwide. The Global Network is united by a shared commitment to fullfill the MVA goals, and share the development of the MVA activities in their respective countries and regions. Regional and National networks are the antenna of the MVA in their respective countries to interface with the local communities. Pillar II: Working Groups 10 Working groups are beeing setup covering a large scope of actiivities. Joining these working groups allows to bring contributions from a variety of stakeholders. Pillar III: Moon Market Moon Market would provide a Database of products, technologies and services. The Database will contain the following information: 1) brief product description; 2) TRL; 3) possible applications : including spin-offs and spin-ins, if appropriate; 4) partnership needed : investor, payload supplier etc.
