Harry Potter Movie-Series
Harry Potter is a British-American film series based on the Harry Potter novels by author
J.K.Rowling. The series is distributed by Warner Bros. and consists of eight fantasy films. This movie series made the second position on highest-grossing film series. The series was mainly produced by David Heyman and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Ruper Grint and Emma Watson as the three leading characters: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Four directors worked on the series: Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuarón, Mike Newell and David Yates. All eight movies had
their screenplays written by Steve Kloves except for fifth film, which was pened by Michael Goldenberg. Production took over ten years to complete, with the main story arc following Harry Potter’s quest to overcome his arch-enemy Lord Voldemort. A demand Rowling made was that the principal cast be kept strictrly British. For making Harry Potter movies, production designers created iconic sets including Ministry of Magic, the Chamber of Secrets, Malfoy Manor and the layout for the Horcrux Cave. On the making of movie series many visual effects have been made by different companies, such as Rising Sun Pictures, Double Negative, Cinesite, Framestore and Industrial Light & Magic.
All the films have been a success financially and critically, making this franchise one of the major in Hollywood. The series is noted by audiences for growing visually darker and more mature as each film was released. However, opinions of the films generally divide book fans, with some preferring the more faithful approach of the first two films and others preferring the more stylised character-driven approach of the later films.
